Just so you know, Mountain View, CA is well within the aura of moonbattery cast by San Francisco.
After a month of nationwide
publicity and much ridicule, the Mountain View Assemblywoman Sally
Lieber on Thursday dropped her idea to criminalize spanking young
children, bowing to opposition from fellow lawmakers who worried it
made the state Legislature look kooky.
[I like her mentor's name]
Thomas Nazario, a University of San Francisco
law professor who has advocated for greater child protection, said
Lieber's bill would begin to establish a specific line between what's
appropriate discipline from a parent and what is not. " -- effort to ban spanking"

So, America's children will continue to live in fear of the savage
beatings that are the norm in American homes. But, wait! There's
still more reason for the tykes to cry themselves asleep, if they sleep
at all.
Can't sleep?
Half
of young children are anxious about the effects of global warming,
often losing sleep because of their concern, according to a new report
today.
*snip*
"While many adults may look the other way, this study should show
that global warming is not only hurting the children of the future,
it's affecting the welfare of kids now.
"By raising awareness amongst today's young, hopefully we are improving our chances of reaching a solution.''
The study marked Somerfield's drive to reduce the eight billion plastic bags wasted by UK households every year.

I told you.
I do believe that many children are worried as hell about global
warning, asteroids crashing into earth, and other nonsense peddled by
legions of political activists, True Believers, and utter morons.
That, friends, is the real crime being committed here, and it's they
who should be spa, no horse whipped within a centimeter of their grotesque
lives. I mean that. (Thanks to TFV for this last bit).

Kids these days . . . . Back when I was a-grownin' up, we had to feed the cows and milk the chickens every day from sunup to sundown. There weren't no time for molly-coddlin' an' fancy ideas 'bout global warmin' an' such around our house. No-sir-ee.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid we used to practice hiding under our desks at school for when the atoms bombs fell. Even at age 7 I knew it would do little good and decided if it ever happened for real I was running to the window because I wanted to actually see the mushroom cloud that killed me. I think that most of today's kids have no problem dealing with adult bullcrap, but there are always the few who have or will never learn to deal the real world. I think they are called liberals.
ReplyDeleteWhere air raid drills were conducted at my school and we hid under desks, there was only one thing that worried me. Was my dress covering my underwear from the boys behind my desk?
ReplyDeleteOh, so you were one of those snobs who wore underwear. Sheesh,
ReplyDeleteQuite honestly as a K or 1st I noticed halfway walking to school that I had, indeed, forgotten to put on the undies. Too late to turn back and be late for school. Those days were the most worrisome. Far more than any damned bomb!
ReplyDeleteNext up, legislation to be carbon neutral. See easybeinggreen.com (as reported on Drudge).
ReplyDeleteGeez Juice. You brought back memories of those 'clumsy' daze of yesteryear playing 'oops,I dropped my pencil'.
ReplyDeleteJuice, did you wear patent leather Maryjane's?
ReplyDeleteJP, nope, I went for the black velvet saddle shoes. ;)
ReplyDeleteSpoil sport! I use to get eye strain headaches looking for a glimpse in the reflection.
ReplyDeleteHa! good thing I never knew about that one anyway. ;)
ReplyDeleteEvery night we talk to the kids about what they were told in school. Then we spend however long we need to correct whatever their teacher told them. Global Warming - Kids, not a problem. The earth goes through cycles, the sun goes through cycles. Ask your teacher tomorrow about the current global warming on Mars and Neptune and if there is any possibility man caused that. Earth day - boy. That one takes like a week to correct. Nope kids - most trees that are consumed for paper and construction come from special tree farms just for that purpose. And, we would be much better off burning that garbage and using it to produce electricity instead of burying it.
ReplyDeleteSpend the time with your kids de-programming them from the socialist crap that the teaching establishment is trying to shove down their throats.
