Was flashing back to my youth the other night and tuned into the (dated and very bad) 'Tommy' (the movie from The Who album) and tuned in just in time for Tina and her 'Acid Queen' bit in the movie. That movie is 22 years old and I swear she has not aged! Roll ME down the river, momma!
aw, Juice, ya beat me to it! was she hot in that getup she wore in Thunderdome or what? I have a concert she did live on HBO in the early eighties (on Beta, no less) and she still looks that good. and real talent, to boot. puts todays prepackaged skanks to shame...
Yep, gregor, Tina was great in Thunderdome and I'll always remember her with those back-up singer/dancers in their gold sequin outfits with Tina doing her famous booty shakin' dancin'! She was a regular power house and it's good to see how well she lasting. :)
I went to a concert at McDonough Gymnasium (that at G'town U) back when. Ike & Tina opened for The Who, who were touring to promote "Tommy". That was extremely kick-ass, even in an altered state of perception.
Tina,
ReplyDeleteShe's a class act.
Hey, you told everybody.
ReplyDeleteBlack don't crack. No, I'm not being racist.

ReplyDeleteI'm one of those who really wanted Tommy to work. It didn't, except for Tina's Acid Queen. Good stuff, good stuff.

ReplyDeleteWell I guess cosmotology must be my secret avocation...Seems like I've always had the desire to part Tina's hair.
