The 1969 era commercials are an extra added attraction.
If John McCain had the temper attributed to him, he'd already have shot Reid betwixt his beady eyes.

- ... Earlier this week that Reid told the White House it was essential
McCain take an active role in crafting the bailout—something that would
certainly keep McCain off the campaign trail.
- McCain announced he was suspending his campaign and possibly postponing
a presidential debate in order to get to Washington to work on the bill.
- "It appears to me John McCain is trying to divert attention to his
failing campaign," Reid said during a press conference Wednesday.
- Reid indicated Thursday that he will not hold any votes in the Senate
on Friday so McCain has “no excuses” to skip the debate scheduled for
that day.

Obama is a platitudinous pop-tart, and ought not have a chance against
McCain debating this issue. But, his financial acumen is on a par with my own, and
the media are lined up to attack him no matter what he says. The answer
is "Straight Talk Express." It's here that Sarah Palin can
come to his rescue for a second time.
If she independently gets off the "fat cat Wall Street" bus, and assaults the democrats, and the media for covering
for them, listing the string of Democrat failure, and complicity
in setting the climate for the free-for-all credit debacle, she forces
his hand. That's right. Sarah puts the boss on
the spot. At that point he
has to react one of two ways. Join her in the attack, or wave the
white flag. (Watch archive videos of Spiro Agnew for style,
Sarah. The media hated Agnew's guts, but the American voting
public loved him. )

The one on the far right (how about that!) is a big Roger, Rodger.

It is really starting to anger me the way the Donks and the Media are apparently successfully painting this as the result of greed and deregulation rather than another failed Democrat mandated social experiment. Cripe, even FOX is playing along.

Thanks mucho for those clips, Rodge. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Media "fairness" (as in doctrine) only applies to successful conservatism. eff 'em. I'll be watching for their fairness tonight at the debate.
ReplyDeletebtw, Tarryton was my first brand as a newbie smoker back in the day, before moving on to Marlborough (box) and quitting in '74. *Nice ads nostalgia* :)
My kind of man, Ted Agnew was.
ReplyDeleteThomas M.
Having graduated from college in 1968, at the time I considered Agnew to be an old, backward, doofus. This goes to show that when one is in his or her early twenties, one's brain hasn't fully developed.
ReplyDeleteHoward K. Smith's final comment was particularly telling. He failed to gie the FCC's full report of it's' findings. What he should have said was, "The political pundits reviewing Nixon's speech are covered under the First Amendment of the Constitution but they're still biased as Hell!"
