This gets my vote for worst rendition of a beautiful song, as done by the composer. Please, please Mr. Cohen, stick to writing. One of my favorite performances of "Hallelujah" was done by K.D. Lang, someone who should stick to singing and avoid politics. We all have our strengths and weaknesses...
Excellent, Rodg, and thanks. I must have eight covers of this song (Cohen did write it). My favorite is Jeff Buckley's.
ReplyDeleteI can appreciate his songwriting, but his performance just doesn't suit me.
ReplyDeleteThis quartet, however, is amazing:

Here's a tune in honor of 'Mr. President Elect' and his R&R back home.... hula :-)
ReplyDelete"Everyboby Knows" what the 'Wackey' is, No?
ReplyDeleteI tried 'em and I'll go with Jack's Norge Quartet as best in show.
ReplyDeleteAlexandra Burke's version is the #1 song in the UK right now. Jeff Buckley's version is #2, according to UPI.
