In a bit of backward engineering, FDR
apologists only recently, as near as I can tell, began this drum
beat. Roosevelt's heavy handed trashing of the Constitution was
necessary to stave off an impending takeover by communists. The
next four years, then, will be interesting, given that the communists
will be steering the ship of state. As you astute readers know,
nine years of FDR tinkering did absolutely nothing to quell Great
Depression I. What did? That's right, global war. I
see a full circle ahead.
