| It's 9:15 and I still
haven't loaded the Tax-Cut program.
Indeed, I don't know quite where it is. There is obviously some
pathology involved in my not wanting to comply. I don't think I'll owe anything, so it's not that. It used to be - and I am not making this up - it used to be I'd do my
taxes and say, "I consider it a privilege to pay taxes, and I hope I
have to pay double next year, because that'll mean my income has
doubled ." Today, I think more along the lines of, "I'm
filing my tax return only because I fear the IRS more than I fear
al-Qaeda back shooters." I also hate and despise the system that
spawned this extra-constitutional bureau. If I was in a movie today, I'd be this guy ... ![]() Oops, I mean this guy ... ![]() |
scream-of-consciousness; "If you're trying to change minds and influence people it's probably not a good idea to say that virtually all elected Democrats are liars, but what the hell."

Now, you get to pay double, but your income has halved.

I heard an interesting argument a few days ago. It costs the same percentage of a month's pay to buy an ounce of gold today as it did when we were on the gold standard, and gold was $32/ounce. So nothing has really changed, except a perception that the paper we replaced it with has some intrinsic value.
ReplyDeleteBut that's not really my problem. My problem is that I love our country, the idea of the United States, but have no respect for those who govern us, and despise the people who perpetuate their rule. By paying tax, then, I'm put in a position of propping up a socialist government I truly detest, and which, according to every value I've been taught in a lifetime, ought to detest and rise against! $5.2B to ACORN? We should be at war with ACORN! How preposterous.
"Oh dear, Mr. Unpronouceable is dead..."
ReplyDeleteBy the way the bare-butt guy in the first pic is Colm Meaney who played Chief Engineer Miles O'Brien in StarTrek:NG and DS9...
(Loved "Road to Wellville"... gotta get a dvd of it...)
