As
an aside, many of you non Barn Army cadre may not know this about
Sec/Barn Navy TimW. He's the only person to capture a MiG 17 from
the air. On April 5th, 1972 twenty-two year old Lt. Walker, using
a ladder suspended from a T-33 jet trainer, dropped onto the canopy of
the Commie Mig. Using a 3 pound maul, Lt. Walker smashed the
canopy open and and wrestled the surprised Chink (what they're called
during wartime, but not now) pilot out of his seat, and dropped
him overboard. Walker flew the plane to an airfield outside of
Saigon. Now you know the rest of the story. He refused the
Medal of Honor because stories about a Navy Swift Boat commander, who'd
awarded himself 50 medals, cheapened the whole thing.
Oooh-rahs to Sec. Tim.

ReplyDeleteAmn Hixon
The above, as described by the LCDR, was not restricted to Navy Pilots. ALL designated aircrew (carrying the Navy Enlisted Classification -NEC- for aircrew, along with applicable Officer slots -NFO, Co-pilot, ect)were at some point in their certification/qualification required to go through SERE school.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, all the above (and other interesting stuff) did occure.
This whole "They were tortured ... tortured I tell you!!" stuff is bs pure and simple.
Oh, and turning word "feelit"...coy, very coy!
I say yes! Sue them for water boarding our GIs!' OH, an while your at it; the grits they served at Fort McClellan, Alabamastan, during MP school were a crime against humanity as well.
ReplyDeleteRAK
Rog, you have distorted history yet again. It was not a Chink. It was in fact, a Slopehead. You are toying with an international incident that could cause the Chinks to foreclose on our country. My apologies to any Chinks "Loga, velly velly bad man, he solly".
ReplyDeleteLOL!!!
ReplyDeleteNope. This MiG was flown by a Chink from the PRChinks. Saw it on the Hitler Channel. Of course, they all look alike to me.
ReplyDeleteYou can add Air Force air crews to that class action suit! I remember well the 48 hours of hell I went through in POW training at Fairchild Air Force base in the mid '80s in order to become a flight engineer on C-141s.
ReplyDeleteDave in Pa
Hell, chemical gas mask training in BMTS for USAF was torture....
ReplyDeleteDamn, I thought the post title was "Bitch Slapped Obama" and immediate thought of Hillary Clinton.
ReplyDeleteJust having to look at Pelosi's ugly mug on Drudge is torture.
ReplyDeleterighty gomez

ReplyDelete"What a bunch of pussies. I was in the Army. Nuff said!"
ReplyDeleteI was *tortured* at Fort Knox myself.. FIrst, they humiliated me by asking me what kind of haircut I wanted, then cut it all off, whilst laughing.. Then.. OMG the "food" From a distance, if there was only one box of C rations left, you could be sure it was the dreaded ham and eggs (a food like, egg'esqe substance with mystery meat).
I must have been tramitized and stockholmed or something, cause I re-upped. Bastards..
(Yes, now and then I miss all of it.. good and bad..)
