Congressman Thaddeus McCotter
(R MI)
I'd never heard of McCotter, but I'm damned impressed. You will be too.  I think.

  1. Watch the whole deal - Q&A is best, and you will sleep better tonight than you did last night. STG

  2. But...but....but how does he do that without a teleprompter?

  3. Best political extemporaneous speaker and thinker I've seen in along time, and a very bright and wise man methinks.

  4. The guy is major league. I see Keynote speaker 2012 GOP convention, and Palin VP. Glad that's settled.

  5. jCatara. As a retired UAW conservative, I beg the people at my local to support Thaddeus. His knowledge about the perils of the auto industry is very insightful. The union just can't seem to back anyone with an R next to their name. He is my represntative, and I think he is one of the most down to earth politicians in congress. He is on red eye from time to time, he has a great sense of humor something the democrats sorely lack, along with their lack of common sense.

  6. I find him pretty much on target. A few minor quibbles, but far and away an articulate, humorous, and yes - a very potential candidate for a position in the GOP leadership or our executive branch.

  7. As smart and funny as John Malkovich pretends to be.

  8. Self deprecating, humorous and admires Reagan. What else can you ask for?
Honestly, my reaction was: Wow. Someone who gets it, and realizes that government is not the be-all and end-all of the world. There are more things to do than 'govern'. AND he trusts the people as the 'second line of defense' against the government.
He needs to be seen more on the national level. Either he is real smart, or he has some very good advisors. Either way, he comes across as a human being who realizes the same things we all do out here in the 'flyover' country.

  10. His five points are really quite profound. He makes you say to yourself, "Why didn't I think of that?"

  11. The guy is on Red Eye quite often as well. Very funny man with a fully functional brain.
Rodger is again right about him making a great VP for Sarah Palin.

  14. All I can say is THANK YOU Rodger!
I watched the whole thing last night and have been watching his You Tubes this afternoon.

I agree, Palin/McCotter 2012 is sounding pretty good.
