Health care law may cost California billions

The passage of health care reform has focused attention on Washington, but the significant and expensive burden of implementing key provisions of the law now falls to individual states, and officials in cash-strapped California say it will cost the state billions of dollars a year.

  3. Unfunded mandates are the source of a lot of the states' problems already! Not to mention how unconstitutional this pathetic excuse for legislation really is!

  5. CA doesn't have a problem. All they need to do is tax the "rich" more. Start with a VST (value subtracted tax) on actors, taking into account the amount of money they make in relation to what they actually provide for society. Double that amount if they feel their accessibility to public audience in some way gives them greater understanding of issues.

    Two birds, one stone. Actors will still make millions, but will now be standing in line for government cheese like the rest of us.
