2). Utah Legislature: Raindrops may fall into pails legally
While collecting or harvesting rainwater has been a habitual practice
for years in the state, it has been officially "illegal" because the
state owns the water rights
3) Unions want Washington's help with pension funds
Nonunion workers and private companies could be forced into absorbing
the financial liabilities of underfunded union pension plans, thanks to
pending health care mandates and an executive order that could be
finalized this year,
4) DEMS FEAR
VIOLENT BACKLASH
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer is warning that some of his
Democratic colleagues are being threatened with violence when they go
back to their districts — and he wants Republicans to stand up and
condemn the threats.
OKAY- Hey angry mob numbering in the millions, that would go on your permanent records!
Wouldn't it be better to work from the inside, and get your state to
secede from this Union from hell? And let them rot in their
own filth? Oh- and make the Barn Army the new national defense
force, with a brand new B-52?
8) Obama Rubs Our
Faces In It
“We proved that this government, a government of the people and by the
people, still works for the people.”
9) Dr. Helen: What the hell is with Fox News?
It seems that they are stuck in the 1990s with the false hope that if
they act "fair and balanced" by bending over backwards to give much time
and attention to Democrats on their shows, they will somehow be
rewarded.
COMMENT: Because, Dr. Helen,
it's the right thing for journalists to do. Present both sides of
every story, and let the chips fall. That's why FOX is the number one
cable news show.
I din't know that it rains it Utah, Rodge.
ReplyDeleteIn the west, water rights are homesteaded, and not riparian, like they are in the east.
ReplyDeleteYou don't get to dam a stream on your property, if said dam causes folks downstream, who were using that water in the past, to not have access to the water they had been customarily using.
Most irrigation districts don't get pissy about downspouts being diverted into rain barrels ... that's generally considered poor behavior.
I think the Utah legislature is simply trying to make it legal, without allowing some jerk to find some loophole to mess up the current water rights laws. I'm pretty certain they will go on ignoring downspout barrels.
Bob Hope: "You mean like Democrats?"
ReplyDeleteZOMBIES
ReplyDeleteAh, a sweet Bob Hope moment. :D
ReplyDeleteThanks.
I didn't notice the rollover until it rolled over. Here's the first time I've ever typed this:
