Isn't this nice. If you are of the Muslim religion, you don't have to
give all the new Obamacare healthcare reform regulations and penalties
another thought. Because the concept of being compelled to participate
in such a healthcare program offends Islamic sensibilities, Muslims are
specifically exempt.

Does that mean they are not entitled to "free" healthcare? or do they get the freebie too?
ReplyDeleteI don't trust anything that comes from the examiner but you might not have to take it but I am positive you will have to give into it.
ReplyDeleteAlso the Amish and a few other groups, not just Muslims.

The questions not yet answered: will these groups exempt from paying still get health care? How will they know a person really... is of an exempt religion? Can anyone else see this ending badly? Religion testing to make sure you really are as you say? How can the government know what is in someone's heart?
Does this not discriminate on religious grounds- that one group gets an exemption and another does not? Is this fair to atheists?
There's a big ol' can o' legal worms there. It should be explored for grounds for a challenge.
AWM
As a life long Christian Scientist... I wonder if I'm also exempt...
ReplyDeletepdwalker: Islamics can still walk into emergency rooms, and get free healthcare, like anyone else the hospital is afraid will sue them for discrimination.
ReplyDeleteIf the "Universal Health Care" mantra is employed as such, personal income taxes will be funding health care, along with any health insurance premiums collected along the way.
ReplyDeleteSo these groups "Islam, Amish" may not be subject to a premium per se however on an individual basis those paying income tax will be paying into general revenues which will be allocated to all social programs which of course includes now health care. Unless of course Muslims, the Amish are going to be exempted from paying income taxes now. I wonder if Jews, Catholics, Protestants will be provisioned to " a not subject to clause"
So Muslims (and other religious groups) are exempt from buying health insurance "for religious reasons".
ReplyDeleteYet a Catholic doctor cannot refuse to perform an abortion "for religious reasons".
To some people, that actually makes sense.
I just became a Christian Scientist.
ReplyDeleteAd rem.....
As a registered minister in the Unitarian church of Life My religion specifically prohibits my participation in obama care. Btw it takes all of about 2 seconds to become one.
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna restart Flip Wilson's "Church of What's Happening Now."
ReplyDeleteAthe says, "Obamacare is the work of, oh, could it beeee ... uhm, oh crap! No Satan. Gonna hafta blame it on the friggin' Democrats!"
