Drudge links to a London Evening Standard story, the full title of which is "David Cameron braced for American anger over BP leak and Lockerbie deal." The oil leak
garners exactly zero attention in the story, which is good, because the
notion that "Americans" are angry at BP, or Britain, over the oil leak
requires a good deal of journalistic license to sell. I will
wager that along the Gulf coast, there's more anger at the Obama
administration for its inept, meddling, and dishonest role in the
clean-up.
There would be every reason in the world for Americans to be angry if
BP did exert pressure to release Lockerbie bomber, Abdelbaset
al-Megrahi, "in return for lucrative drilling rights handed to the oil giant by Tripoli.
Except. Except not two in a million Americans know who the hell
Abdelbaset al-Megrahi is, or remember what he did. Eighty-seven
percent recognize a Muslim name, and figure he prolly should be
executed for something, but what?
Prime Minister Cameron's visit will be historically notable only for
the opportunity the left media will use to gin up more oil drilling
angst, and that Cameron will return home hating Obama's
guts. Even more.
I'm beginning a new category to handle posts like this. Self indulgent rambles. Carry on.

British Petroleum has been the source of some damn good jobs in the Gulf States. Individuals, suppliers and communities have benefitted from their hard work with money paid by BP. If there's any anger, it's against the asswipes in Washington that are as feckless as a kindegarten class.
