This simple reminder from a news account of the Beck rally jostled me out of a stupor.

The
tea party is essentially a loosely organized band of anti-tax,
libertarian-leaning political newcomers who are fed up with Washington
|
” |
Fed up with Washington includes
pissant GOP leadership, and RINO lickspittles who hope to ride
this wave into the majority without any willingness to change
themselves. If the number one pressing problem is the economy, and it
certainly is, then this is a time for clearing the deck of all
impediments to economic growth, and the slashing of budgets. And look!
Democrats are dangling their own roadmap to success; their rebuttal
to Ryan's 'Roadmap.'
“

Candidates
backing this budget plan have shown themselves to be out of touch with
struggling families in these tough economic times because they're
backing a plan to dismantle Medicare as we know it and turn Social
Security over to Wall Street banks," said Jesse Ferguson, southern
regional press secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign
Committee. [Flinching]

Either you respect the public's ability to spot this hollow "out of touch" prattle for what it is; and realize that the public is receptive to extreme life saving action, or you're just another problem. If
Republicans don't have the steel to trim existing entitlements, what
chance is there that they will over-turn Obamacare? My fervent
hope is that we take the House with enough Tea-Party newcomers to deny
Boehner Bob Dole the Speakership, and elect someone like Ryan.

"Republican Lickspittles" exactly what I have been thinking of them.
ReplyDeleteI was cold called by the Republican "leadership" and one of the questions was what should they do first if they won back the House and Senate. Glaringly absent was repeal of Obamacare. I was polite but let the person who called me have an earful - and she agreed with me. The Republicans (aka The Stupid Party) will lose again if they don't man up and undo what the Democrats (aka neocommunists) have done.
Here...Here!

Go Paul Ryan! The fact that he is endlessly attacked by Little Matty Yglesias is all the confirmation I need to know that he's right.
ReplyDeleteRomney/Ryan in 2012. Palin secretary of state, she can recognize the enemy. Rodger The Real King of France moonlights as SecDef. Alear as Secretary of Education, coz I'll fire everyone and abolish it and then retire. Ignorant Dickweed as Secretary of Energy, feel free to do nothing. Al Sharpton at HUD, for the sole reason we can get rid of both of those monstrosities at one blow.
ReplyDeleteDougM and JMcD as social secretaries, mostly coz they'll invite me into the parties.
Juice, you ok with ambassador to the UN? We need someone to laugh with scorn at those cockroaches.
Angry White Male ambassador at large. Keep angry, and start with the commies, but use your second eye to stare down the Saudis.
Alear,
ReplyDeleteAmbassador to the UN? Nah. I'd spend my life in prison after evicting everyone and leveling the building. ;)
Also, no offense, but am no fan of Mitt Romney. He's just another business as usual Republican and I'm tired of having the same-old-same-old thrown at us. I want fresh, independent, conservative blood coursing through D.C.
No Romney, no Huckabee, no Gingrich. They are unreliable. I would love to see Liz Cheney and John Bolton run for office. Also, no more Bushs.
ReplyDeleteTomR,
ReplyDelete!DITTOS!
Dittos here too (if Bolton heads the ticket).
