In a swift and unexpected decision, the Environmental Protection Agency
today rejected a petition from environmental groups to ban the use of
lead in bullets and shotgun shells, claiming it doesn't have
jurisdiction to weigh on the controversial Second Amendment issue. The
decision came just hours after the Drudge Report posted stories from
Washington Whispers and the Weekly Standard about how gun groups were
fighting the lead bullet ban.

The EPA had planned to solicit public responses to the petition for two
months, but this afternoon issued a statement rejecting a 100-page
request from the Center for Biological Diversity, the American Bird
Conservancy, and three other groups for a ban on lead bullets, shot,
and fishing sinkers. The agency is still considering what to do about
sinkers. [etc]

Yay! Armor piercing bullets for EVERYONE!
ReplyDeleteSo can the people decide what to do with the EPA?
ReplyDeleteA while back there were reports claiming that the NRA was endorsing Reid. Now it looks as if that won't happen. The NRA is still a single issue group but they define that issue broadly.

NRA not endorsing Reid
... the NRA, in a statement, suggested the Senate’s confirmations of Supreme Court justices Elena Kagan and Sotomayor factored into their decision not to endorse him...
Laurence
Well I'm glad they did, but it was a "duh" decision from the start.
ReplyDeleteRodger, you should know that even a "duh" decision can go either way with obamanauts.
ReplyDeleteLook what Judge Susan Bolton did to AZ.
"The EPA reversed itself after
ReplyDelete1. Huge numbers of comments, many ending in mentions of nooses,
2. Senator Foghorns and Rep. Kickbacks all called asking "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TRYING TO DO TO US?!?" and
3. The White House threatened to defenestrate the EPA director if this didn't go away."
Thanks Laurence.
ReplyDeleteA few weeks back I got a call from the NRA to renew my membership and brought reid up.
Boy, such verbal contortions I heard through the receiver. My final answer was that I'd watch their positions beore deciding to send them any more money.
Maybe I wasn't the only one.
