Reason #4 why men have dogs: to blame their farts on.

(#1 is loyal companionship. #2 is a tie between protection and play.)

~
It didn't mention that women are incapable of farting.

There isn't a woman alive that can keep their mouth shut long enough to build up pressure.

~
Perhaps this is more appropriate for Post Secrets? Oh well. I mentioned to a friend many years ago that I'd never heard my first wife fart. He said "no wonder she was such a bitch".

~
So what is it in expensive Fraunch cuisine that causes my own farts to make my eyes water and want to leave the room?

~
Always educational!

Thanks Rodger!

~
Reminds me of this old classic:

The family wheeled Grandma out on the lawn, in her wheelchair, where
the activities for her 100th birthday were taking place.

Grandma couldn't speak very well, but she could write notes when she
needed to communicate.

After a short time out on the lawn, Grandma started leaning off to the
right, so some family members grabbed her, straightened her up, and
stuffed pillows on her right.

A short time later, she started leaning off to her left, so again the
family grabbed her and stuffed pillows on her left.

Soon she started leaning forward, so the family members again grabbed
her, then tied a pillowcase around her waist to hold her up.

A grandson, who arrived late, came up to Grandma and said, "Hi,
Grandma, you're looking good! How are they treating you?"

Grandma took out her little notepad and slowly wrote a note to the
grandson. .. . "They won't let me fart."

A burp is but a breath of air

coming from the heart

But when it takes a downward roll

It becomes a fart.

~
A burp is just an educated fart......it made it to the top

I'm seeing a lot of people make the mistake of saying our bodies and everything in them (or coming out of them) are 98.6. That is only the average ORAL temp, under the tongue. Some rectal, ear, and the new forehead thermometers are scale-adjusted to give the estimated quivalent oral temp.

In reality or body temp varies depending on where it's measured. Our core temp is somewhere around 115 or 120. Farts would be pretty close to that.

Amusing.

Atheists can be ethical because ethical behavior works, and works well. It is in my own best interest to behave ethically, and have a reputation for doing so.

Civilizations are built on trust.

I would suggest reading John Ringo's civilization vs. tribalism rant in The Last Centurion for an overview of why non-civilized societies fail miserably in the face of adversity.

~
Atheists are sometimes ethical because Christians have built Western Law upon the morality of the Christian faith. Morality and ethics are learned behavior and the Bible is the primmer.
It's no coincidence that the greatest enclaves of "civilization" are Western Christian. In my humble opinion it’s no coincidence that the greatest of those are Protestant but that's another story.

~
Clearly someone is trading for humor on the lack of knowledge of the alpha privative.

It. Was. A. Cartoon.

Lighten up, Francis.

This proved one thing:
Atheists have no sense of humor...

Don't be like that, RAK. Of course we do.

~
I-RIGHT-I:

Western civilization is built upon Grecko-Roman civilization. The only portion of out current civilization Christian churches had full control over were the dark ages.

Once that control was removed, during the enlightenment, we were able to progress again.

If you are Muslim  ....
you can opt out of the Obamacare health
care reform laws with no penalties

Boned Jello

Isn't this nice. If you are of the Muslim religion, you don't have to give all the new Obamacare healthcare reform regulations and penalties another thought. Because the concept of being compelled to participate in such a healthcare program offends Islamic sensibilities, Muslims are specifically exempt.

Does that mean they are not entitled to "free" healthcare? or do they get the freebie too?

~
I don't trust anything that comes from the examiner but you might not have to take it but I am positive you will have to give into it.

~
Also the Amish and a few other groups, not just Muslims.

http://sweetness-light.com/archive/health-insurance-is-forbidden-under-islam

The questions not yet answered: will these groups exempt from paying still get health care? How will they know a person really... is of an exempt religion? Can anyone else see this ending badly? Religion testing to make sure you really are as you say? How can the government know what is in someone's heart?

Does this not discriminate on religious grounds- that one group gets an exemption and another does not? Is this fair to atheists?

There's a big ol' can o' legal worms there. It should be explored for grounds for a challenge.

AWM

~
As a life long Christian Scientist... I wonder if I'm also exempt...

~
pdwalker: Islamics can still walk into emergency rooms, and get free healthcare, like anyone else the hospital is afraid will sue them for discrimination.

~
If the "Universal Health Care" mantra is employed as such, personal income taxes will be funding health care, along with any health insurance premiums collected along the way.

So these groups "Islam, Amish" may not be subject to a premium per se however on an individual basis those paying income tax will be paying into general revenues which will be allocated to all social programs which of course includes now health care. Unless of course Muslims, the Amish are going to be exempted from paying income taxes now. I wonder if Jews, Catholics, Protestants will be provisioned to " a not subject to clause"

~
So Muslims (and other religious groups) are exempt from buying health insurance "for religious reasons".
Yet a Catholic doctor cannot refuse to perform an abortion "for religious reasons".
To some people, that actually makes sense.

~
I just became a Christian Scientist.
Ad rem.....

~
As a registered minister in the Unitarian church of Life My religion specifically prohibits my participation in obama care. Btw it takes all of about 2 seconds to become one.

~
I'm gonna restart Flip Wilson's "Church of What's Happening Now."

I think when Brooks speaks of Obama, the word he's looking for is not 'tumor', but 'tumescence'.

I would love to have been at the O-Club that night with the good admiral.

You gotta love the way dingbat leans when he talks about Guam tipping over

What would one expect, given he replaced Cynthia McKinney.

The Honorable Congresscritter is merely describing the latest innovation in climate change research, AGW2: Anthropogenic Guamic Waterlogging.

~
The Admiral deserves big props for keeping a straight face on that. On 2nd thought, he should have laughed right in his face and called him a Stupid Sunzabitch.

330 million MoFos in this country and this is the Best and Brightest that will lead us in the glorious future that awaits us under Dear Leader?

I'm worried about the stability of Hawaii, Great Briton and Australia too.
Whatever you do, don't let Al Gore get wind of this POTENTIAL MAN MADE DISASTER!!!!!!!

~
Admiral: Sir, No worries, we use the same technology on Guam as we have been using on Hawaii & Manhattan islands.

~
Hong Kong solved this by creating an exact duplicate of itself on the bottom of the island for just this sort of problem.

~
The Administration has proposed legislation to deal with this growing issue: Capsize and Trade.

I always have great admiration and pity for the people who have to go speak to those monumental dumbasses without getting angry. If it had been me, I'd have given the clod the belly laugh he deserves.

Nuthin to worry about, Congressperson, sir. Puerto Rico is about 100 miles by fifty or sixty with almost 4 million people. Almost 3 million of us live within 10 miles of San Juan. If we ain't flipped yet Guam ain't goin nowhere...

GLOBAL WARMING SPECIAL

New paper – AGW sooners, stake your “drill baby drill” ice free claims now!
It is a well-known fact that global warming is melting the Arctic ice cap. As this happens, the natural resources in the Arctic will become available for exploitation. As such, the five countries with major claims to the region—the United States, Canada, Russia, Denmark, and Norway—are looking to extend their claims to the natural resources beneath the ice-covered ocean.

Arctic Sea Ice about to hit ‘normal’ – what will the news say?
NSIDC puts out an article about once a month called the Sea Ice News.  It generally highlights any bad news they can find about the disappearance of Arctic ice.  Last month’s news led with this sentence.

In February, Arctic sea ice extent continued to track below the average, and near the levels observed for February 2007.

Carbon Emissionaries
In 2005, the European Union (EU) put into place a  carbon trading scheme. Prices for carbon permits promptly plunged, and have remained depressed since then. The price for a permit to emit a tonne of CO2 went from 21.59 Euros in 2005, to 17.28 in 2006, to 0.68 in 2007, to 2.16 in 2008, to 13.03 in 2009. Today, however, you will be glad to know that some academics declared the scheme a resounding success …

This just in: Uncrowned former President AlGore blames Tennessee's loss to Michigan State in the NCAA Tournament on Gorebal Warmenating. "The 70 to 69 final score of the basketball game fails to account for the carbon penalty that should have been imposed against Michigan State for representing a state that has visited the internal combustion engine on the world for a century. The true final score of the game was 75-20 in favor of Tennesee, when one properly accounts for carbon credits and penalties. Much like the true outcome of the 2000 Presidential election."
