I've had various (la-la-la-la)
go-to outlets over the years, for when I'm feeling "bad
stuff" overload (ahem).
RFD-TV
was one. Some will
remember me posting cattle auction videos. More recently I turned
to EWTN (Catholic TV),
but their world news is really very good, which means very
troubling. I feel guilty using eff-words in church, so to
speak. Lately I turn to my cache of Through
the Wormhole episodes, narrated by Morgan Freeman. I can't think of
a better speaking voice than his. Add to that his acting
career. No, not just that every movie he makes is eminently
watchable; it's that he's the rare Hollywooder who seems to be
grounded; nowhere close to your typical movieland left-bot. He's
someone very easy to like.
Anyway, I go to sleep listening to Wormhole every night, and every
morning I wake with a wonderful understanding of quantum physics - that
I unfortunately can't remember. Maybe Freeman's best moment - maybe the best moment any American has
ever had - is this 60 second clip from a Black History Month interview with
Mike Wallace. Morgan Freemen may be the smartest guy in the
country.

ReplyDeleteDug this up a while ago, The Morgan Freeman chain of command.

:-)
If you ignore the whole sex with his step granddaughter scandal.
ReplyDelete(ah, just read up on that step granddaughter thing.... Ah well - Men, still slave to the male sex drive even when they get older....)
ReplyDeleteMorgan Freeman is quite possibly my favorite actor. I love him and respect him - cannot say that for 95% of Hollywood - especially after that tramp actress dropped the f-bomb on award show last night. What a no class tramp!
ReplyDeleteBolivar
I'm was unfamiliar with that allegation, and thanks for the link [ahem]. It does appear however that Freeman is the Black Woody Allen (he married her). Carry on.
ReplyDeleteMorgan Freeman could make a film in which he read the Yellow Pages and get an Academy Award nomination.
ReplyDeleteHe is just that good.
The Wombat
What this country needed about 750 days ago was a "Dave" moment, as in the Kevin Kline movie of the same name.
ReplyDeleteSince nobody really knew Ovarmint at the time, we coulda run in a Denzel Washington or a Morgan Freeman or . . hell, even an Eddie Murphy.
Just THINK how much better off we'd be today. Boggles the mind.
Was talking to the neighbor kid over the week-end. Morgan Freman came up as one of the topics (Nathan had filmed a movie over the summer with Freeman, Dolphin Tale, kid/family friendly, out one of these days).
ReplyDeleteAnyway, he and his mom talked about what a nice man he was and Nathan made the comment "he was just like hanging out with grampa".
Sure glad he is straight.
