Smart Phone Beats Speeding Ticket

Smart Phone Beats Speeding Ticket
Half the traffic tickets I've collected, including all two in Virginia, were the result of dishonest coppery, a.k.a. cops who made stuff up, a.k.a. lying pit-faced lowbrows with a badge*.  So this is received with much clap-calp-clappery. .

A student describes how he was able to get out a speeding ticket by whipping out his Android.

The cop cited him for going over 40 mph in a 25 zone, which he was too frazzled to contest at the time. After he had cooled down and parked his car later, he remembered that he had been running the My Tracks app by Google which records your GPS info and speed. Pulling up the data, he found that he hadn't been speeding. When his court date arrived, he plead not guilty, presented his GPS data, and successfully got out of the ticket. Nice!
Plea-bargaining 101
*On four occasions - when the cops had me dead to rights - I was let off with a warning.  Go figure.

  1. My old GPS had a save trip/track feature and you could export it. Depending on how often it took readings you could prove your speed at a location.

  2. If it can be used for you against the state, it will soon be used by the state against you...

  3. Some cops have been seen grabbing customer's GPS's, and downloading them into laptops.

I'm sure the data will only get used if it supports the cop's ticket.

  4. So, was the scumbag cop reprimanded by the judge for making s**t up?
