I just figgered that,
with the exception of pussified states like California, the old cowboy
states were uniformly manly, independent, and didn't cotton to big city
lawyers. I know - were that true, there would be zero
western states with a democrat caucus of any sort. Still, what's
surprising about Wyoming's legislature passing a
gun carry bill yesterday, is that they hadn't done it before.
I'm actually shocked to discover that, until the governor signs it into
law, Wyoming is gun-nut controlled state, no better than Maryland.
Sheesh. But, congratulations -
cowboys, I bought you a present . Yes, I am envious.

Hello?
ReplyDeleteOpen carry has always been lawful in Wyoming, Rodge. And CCWs were "must issue".
This bill makes a concealed carry permit un-needed in state, but available for use out of state.
USA UAS USA
ReplyDeleteRodger,
ReplyDeleteYou need to get out more, bud. Wyoming has always been a relativity free state. Now, it's just a bit more free.Come visit the West and breath some free air.

I have good instincts, wot? I was right all along. Plus, I count on you guys to keep me current -- I have no life outside of running marathons, Blogging, shooting, and quilting bees.
ReplyDeleteThe kids , and I watched a documentary on the Waco standoff last night . They were horrified by the actions of the ATF / FBI ! They could not believe such a thing was possible in America . They were aware of the Oklahoma bombing , and I explained to them that there never would have been an Oklahoma , had there not been a Waco first .
ReplyDeleteCareful of those Waco documentaries. There is at least one that was passed around by "Mark from Michigan" that was so edited and hacked up as to be laughable.
ReplyDeleteRodger, where did you dig up that completely un-retouched picture of Vigo Mortenson? It certainly capture's his inner Commie.

Part of the problem for states like Wyoming and Montana has been the influx of Show biz and media types from the coasts into some areas and the feds and Sierra club types trying to run things. I expect the policy of "shoot, shovel, and shut up" that originated up there is close to being expanded to other kinds of varmits. If I had to move to Montana I'd walk real soft around the old timers. Somewhere in that state there is an unmarked P-38 that is armed or so goes the rumour.
ReplyDeletetoadold: yeah, but what can a patriot do with a just a GI can opener?

What amazed us, and completely ruled WY out as a residence (back when we were fleeing Illinois), was that WY has among the most restrictive homeschooling laws in the nation. Only NY, MD and PA are worse.
ReplyDeleteYep. WY has stuck itself with a constitutional provision requiring public schools.
ReplyDeleteSomeone in the late 1800s had a massive brain cramp.
Quilting bees? I have a hard time sewing those little buggers together without getting stung.
ReplyDeleteNo thanks!
