Kerry was introduced at the 2004 Democratic National
Convention by Wade Sanders, a retired Navy Captain and former Deputy
Assistant Secretary of the Navy who served as a Swift Boat officer in
Vietnam. Like Kerry, Sanders was the recipient of a Silver Star for
gallantry in action. During the 2004 campaign, Sanders functioned as
Kerry lead attack dog against the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth,
repeatedly denouncing the veterans on the air as liars and comparing
them to Nazi propagandists. [American

SO WHAT?
In
the July 18, 2011, issue of the Navy Times, it was announced that Navy
Secretary Ray Mabus revoked the Silver Star, the nation's
third-highest
valor award, which was awarded nearly 20 years ago to retired Capt.
Wade Sanders of San Diego. A spokeswoman for Mabus confirmed the
secretary's decision, which he made in August 2010 following a review
and recommendation by the Navy Department Board of Medals and
Decorations. "Mabus signed a memorandum in which he revoked the
previously awarded Silver Star," said Capt. Pamela Kunze.[2] [3]
"Had the subsequently determined facts and evidence surrounding both
the incident for which the award was made and the processing of the
award itself been known to the Secretary of the Navy in 1992, those
facts would have prevented the award of the Silver Star," Kunze said. [Wiki]

As one might imagine, the media has ignored
this story. Even the Navy Times declined to post its own article online.

Remember when Kerry took a semi-swift boat across Boston harbor before reporting to duty at the Demonrat convention? What a dick!

Really? Never heard of such a thing, and totally unexpected from a rat like Mabus. There must have been too many witnesses. Now how about LBJ's?

Takes a while for the truth to come out.
ReplyDeleteJust think what'll be announced about the current guy in 10 years or so....
How is it that in a supposedly civilized country such as ours, that the SENTENCING RECOMMENDATIONS does not list "immediatly take the cuzzy sumbitch outside the courthouse, stand him up against the wall and shoot him dead"? Hmmmm?
ReplyDeleteImagine, if you will, the shit-storm that would be ensueing if it was one of Dubya's advisors.......
H the (even more disgusted than normal) Comet
H: such executions need a crime with at least a witness and video tape, or multiple witnesses.
ReplyDeleteI'm not against taking a real asshole out behind the courthouse and shooting him, but if the evidence consists of circumstantial stuff, he needs to be just imprisoned.
Too many innocents have been set up by lazy or malicious cops/prosecutors.
Casca - Good point, but unfortunately, in LBJ's case, all the parties and witnesses are dead.
ReplyDeleteThat was criminal - if Congressman LBJ, a mere observer, was in such a valorous action, why weren't the other members of his aircrew decorated? Really stinks to high heaven.
Lt. Col. Gen. Tailgunner dick
Dick, I can channel the spirit of Douglas MacArthur. He told me he did it to make the peckerhead go away.

BTW, in re whacking shitheads behind the courthouse, I subscribe to the Sherman Doctrine: "Kill them all. The Lord knows his own."
