scream-of-consciousness;
"If you're trying to change minds and influence people it's probably not a good idea to say that virtually all elected Democrats are liars, but what the hell."
This is why hardcore libertarians are unelectable.
Tokyo Rose was a journalist. If the Army air corps could have pinpointed her location, she would have had a 2000 lb general purpose bomb dropped in her lap.
The only way for a journalist to get targeted by the US military is to publicly join Al Qaida.
At which point, if the journo did not want to get a bomb in his lap, he would need to personally surrender.
I seem to recall some "journalists" and stringers and photog types getting in the way of US Marine fire directed at their high vantage points in Baghdad. I seem to recall that the enemy for a little while at least didn't know what was going on on the ground. I seem to recall Dan Rather and that Canadian dipshit agreeing that as a "journalist" they wouldn't warn a US patrol that they were heading into an ambush.
There's a bunch of those "journalist" bastards that need to draw fire, be captured and hung (after a brief but fair trial of course)so I think Ron has the right idea. He may be going out in a flaming dive but he's not far from wrong about almost everything he talks about. I think he'd make a hell of a dictator for our side. Let's give him four years, the military and suspend the Constitution so he can execute a shit load of enemies. It's what Jesus would do.
Had Ron won in 2008, even though he is a nut we wouldn't be in this fix today. We might all be dead from a sneak nuclear attach from the Islamists but we wouldn't be broke and we wouldn't be fighting three or four wars. That is kinda nutty once you think about it.
Actually, if you think about it, that's the reason they nailed Al-Awlaki--he had a magazine and was effective at reaching people. If he was ineffective, nobody would have noticed.
If a journalist is with the enemy, he is supporting the enemy with propaganda, and is a legitimate target. They OUGHT to target people with camcorders.
This is from someone who worked as a reporter both in print journalism in the 70's and 80's and in television as a producer in the 2000's.

Ron Paul was a nut when he ran in 2008. Ron Paul is still a nut as he runs in 2012.
