The
WaPost
used to, and maybe still does, have a picture quiz in its Sunday
magazine section. I've had in mind for some years to rip it off
on the
blog, and now I have. The top picture is an original photograph
of the
Beatles (very early on from the look of it). In the roll-over
I've
made 11 alterations. Can yo find them? Unlike the WaPost, I won't
make
you wait a week for the answers.
Did anyone find all eleven?

Thanks for reminding me how much I hate the Beatles.
ReplyDeleteReally? I love 'em - always have.
ReplyDeleteMake that l love the music. Individually, they became pretensions and smarmy. Paul most of all.
ReplyDeleteIt looks to me like there's eleven alterations; the one's you highlighted plus the guy standing behind Paul who disappeared and the buttons removed from John's sleeve.

You must have loaded that pretty quick because I almost immediately changed it to 11. Good Eye. It also tells me it was to0o easy.
ReplyDeleteI got nine. I don't think it was too easy, but my eyes could be tired. It's been a long day.

Nicely done.

My daughter needs a new phonograph
She wore out all the needles
Besides, I broke the old one in half,
I HATE THE BEATLES,
She says they have a Liverpool beat,
She says they used to play there,
Four nice kids from off of the streets,
Why didn't they stay there?
What is all the screaming about?
Fainting and Swooning,
Sounds to me like their guitars,
could use a little tuning
The boys are from the British Empire,
The British think they're keen,
If that is what the British desire,
God Save The Queen!
No daughter of mine can push me around,
In my house I'm the master,
But when the Beatles came into town,
Gad what a disaster
Little girls in sneakers and jeans,
Destroyed the territory,
Was like some of the gorier scenes,
From West Side Story
Of course my daughter had to go there,
The tickets are cheap she hollered,
I was able to pick up a pair,
For forty seven dollars
When the Beatles come on the stage,
They scream and shriek and cheer them,
Now I know why there's such a race,
It's impossible to hear them
Ringo is the one with the drums,
The others all play with him,
It shows you what a boy can become,
Without a sense of rhythm
There's Beatles books and t-shirts and rings,
And one thing and another,
To buy my daughter all of these things,
I had to sell her brother!
Back in 1776 we fought the British then folks,
Parents of America,
It's time to do it again folks
When they come back here's how we'll begin,
We'll throw them in Boston Harbor,
But please before we throw them all in,
Let's take them to a barber
Allan Sherman
Clap! Clap! Clap!

I was fortunate enough to meet the Beatles during their first U.S. tour. I decided instantly that they were barbarians because they drank Coke with SCOTCH. However, in those days I was an actual 20ish news person for a local radio station and got to spend a little time interviewing them. They were funny, irreverent and kind of nice. I wasn't, however, infected with any mania relating to them.
ReplyDeleteIt's sad to me that 2 of them are now deceased - particularly George Harrison because then and ever since I considered him the smartest, most handsome and talented of the 4.
And I'm their age! I guess I should be croaking soon myself?
Nah Gayle, you're still young. Paul is still finding new pwople to marry. Cool story.
ReplyDeleteThe Beatles ruined rock 'n roll as I knew it.
ReplyDeleteDougM YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD! This was precisely my problem with them. They got so much publicity and play time, they sucked the air from the radiowaves. If you weren't the Beatles or something similar, you got no play time. Most rock performers (and most of those that I liked) didn't survive that era. THAT is why I hate the Beatles to this day.
ReplyDeleteBefore I forget, I recently went to see Jersey Boys here in Las Vegas. Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons DID survive the Beatles era. Jersey Boys was a great show.
