Cancer cure via a teenaged mind?
The Bright Future - it's out there*
MoSup
called me in to watch this. Great story of a 17-year-old
California
student who got to thinking. About cancer. And, a cure.

infiltrate America's infrastructure.
Since nobody else will I'll borrow a line from Glen Reynolds; "faster please". I'm pretty sure I feel a case of cancer coming on. Damn, it's too early to drink.
You go girl! Just think, if it hadn't been for her f'ing around with that little idea some "deserving" moron into Black studies would have got her spot at UCLA.
There are several key points this program brings up:
- you must educate and nurture the smart fraction of your population. They are the ones who will be creating the future. You can be sure that this girl succeeded in spite of the education system because of her parents standing behind her (and giving the odd push and shove)
- Don't underestimate the Chinese. They are, on average, quite a smart and industrious people. The only reason they have not excelled past the Western world is because of a culture that prevents them from taking advantage of their natural talents. When unleashed in Western culture, you can see the difference.
- Immigration is a good thing - as long as you restrict it to give time for assimilation and as long as you restrict it to the best and the brightest and/or most successful. Importing morons will do a country no good at all.
