You;ll eat what we tell you kid ...

The Nanny State - one regulation away from total bliss

“unhealthy” lunch replaced with cafeteria nuggets

Res Ipsa Loquitur

A preschooler was fed chicken nuggets for lunch because a state worker felt that her homemade lunch did not have enough nutritional value ...

The West Hoke Elementary School student was in her classroom when a state employee who was inspecting lunch boxes decided that her packed lunch — which consisted of a turkey and cheese sandwich, a banana, apple juice and potato chips — “did not meet U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines.”

The student’s mother was charged $1.25 for the cafeteria tray, from which her daughter ate three chicken nuggets.

Prediction - we're not far from Nanny States finding it necessary to arm Child Protective Services employees—  Hell, all gummint employees, for  protection against the  unruly, unappreciative, and recalcitrant  citizenry.

  1. In the natural progression of this type of event, the next phase will involve attorneys, school board denial and a psychiatric examination to determine the impact of the event on the child.

Eventually, the school board will pay a settlement, after huge legal fees, and the taxpayers will pay the bill because some dumbass that read a phamphlet decided to flex their bureaucratic muscles.

I see a bond referendum in the near future.

  2. I couldn't get past "inspecting lunch boxes." What? WHAT? We're paying a person to inspect lunch boxes?

  3. I believe it would be fair for all gummint employees to become armed. We the People already are. But don't get me wrong, I am a firm believer that if I find myself involved in a fair fight, something went wrong on the planning stage.

WV: snatopen.... yesseree! Feb 14, that's a mandatory.

  4. Well, now we know.
    That " gov't free lunch" costs $1.25

    Sure, you can comment on the irrationality of this crap;
but I see this as the same thing as anti-homeschool harassment,
    except this is anti-home-made-lunch harassment.
Pretty soon, it'll be anti-home-influence harassment.
(What? Already is? Yeah, prob'ly right.)

  6. $1.25 for three reclaimed chicken chunks? Sure, just as soon as you pay me $5.00 for the turkey sandwich meal you stole from my daughter.
