This predicament somehow dovetails with two bits of history.

...  I have read that the U.S. Government paid patent license fees to Mauser before and during the hostilities of the Great War with Imperial Germany. This was because the M1903 Springfield rifle was correctly adjudged a patent infringement on the Mauser Model 1898. During the war, the patent payments continued, conveniently handled by Swiss bankers, acting as middlemen. The U.S. taxpayers paid Mauser of Germany about $1 per rifle plus additional penalties that would have eventually totaled $250,000 USD, up until the U.S. entered the war. It has also been rumored that some payments continued to arrive even after the U.S. Congress declared war on the Kaiser's Germany.  ...

This historical tidbit is just once notch below what happened two decades later when Germany's Nazi regime had the temerity to sell full fare train tickets to some Jews, to cover the costs of their forced relocation to the designated ghettos before their planned extermination. Oh, but the Nazi bureaucrats were so conciliatory. They only charged children half fare to be sent to their deaths.

  1. There is a Firefox plugin called "DeSOPA" that will resolve your requested URL to the actual IP address and connect you by IP. It's designed to avoid DNS redirect by your corrupt Gummint:

  2. Got it, but my gawd, it takes forever to "resolve" the few sites I tried.

  3. Everything I've read, said payments stopped in the war and were never resumed

  4. This reminds me that I still don't have a Mauser 1898 or a Springfield 03A3 or 03.

    Or a Garand or a M1 Carbine.

But I'm not worried about Obama banning these by Executive Order - just high (i.e. normal) capacity magazines and black rifles - after he trounces Mitt (who is cut from the Dole-McCain-GHWB molde) in November.

  7. The National Security Agency (NSA) has immediate openings for college graduates who majored in Middle Eastern studies. Additional credit will be given to applicants who are literate in Farsi and Persian. To apply, just call anybody.

  8. The article is total bullshit. Britain suspended royalties (the Enfield design copies the Mauser's too) in 1914, and the U.S. suspended their payments soon afterwards (much earlier than 1917).

The source of the article is from one of those gerbils who tries to show how the Eeeevil Capitalists all work together with Swiss bankers to chase after profits regardless of national interest.

I'm just surprised he didn't mention the International Joooos, for the trifecta.
