Sherlock
is a British television series that presents a contemporary update of
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes detective stories. It was
created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, and stars Benedict
Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as Doctor John
Watson. After an unbroadcast pilot in 2009, the first series of three
90-minute episodes was transmitted on BBC One and BBC HD in July and
August 2010, with a second series of three episodes first broadcast in
January 2012. A third series has been commissioned and will reportedly
air in 2013. The series has been sold to over 180 territories. [Wiki]

I watched the first one last night [A Study
in
Pink] and found it captivating. One entertainment is that
the
relationship (ahem) betwixt Holmes and Watson is broached in a
brilliant
repartee while the two dine for the first time (Watson: Do
you have a girlfriend? Holmes,
That's not my style ... Watson: ...). The bad news (for me) is only two remain on
NetFlix, and even if the 2012 series were available it would only be
five. I likes me dalliances by the gross. But WAIT! You can watch
season two online!
You're welcome

I found it online and watched all the available eps. But I didn't save any of the links. Cumberbatch is a great choice for Sherlock.
ReplyDeleteThe tilt shift photography for the credits is interesting too, no?
I enjoyed this series very much, when we had a TV. Even more manic energy from a youthful Holmes, and a sharper Watson.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear the show continues.
The actors of this particularly series spoke in no uncertain terms that Sherlock and Watson are not gay in this iteration.
ReplyDeleteAn outstanding series I grabbed off the torents a while back. Highly recommend it.
ReplyDeleteMoffat does a lot of the Dr. Who series. Good writer.
ReplyDeleteVery well done, and available on disc.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the next three
