bought this for my birthday and it's the best feeder ever. I
filled it
with nuts and the squirrels went berzerk, but after just a few failures
they no longer even bother. Had a lot of black birds, Grackles and
Blue
Jays, but I just adjusted the spring so it closes up on them. Way
fun
to watch Has a Cardinal ring perch because, and I didn't know
this,
Cardinals have no neck and can't really turn their heads while sitting
on a perch (although that hasn't stopped them from using our other

ReplyDeleteProbably not going to stop bears that are what we want to deter.
We have that same feeder. Bought it a few years ago. It is great at stopping squirrels. Unfortunately the raccoons found it. They are strong enough to pick up the bottom of the feeder and shake the seed out of it. We had to move it to a pole system to keep it from getting raided.

Now if there was just something similar that would work on those frauds who scam the taxpayers the way the bird feeder works on the smaller squirrels.

The squirrels around here would just chew their own hole in the thing or chew through the branch or line it was hanging from. The thing won't work so well when it's lying on the ground.
