I couldn't even afford to adopt the Winker. She's too young and I'm too old. A Wankel last a lot longer than they used to and I don't drive long distances much anymore. The Wanker has already cost me and everybody else money. I'd only want him if they threw in a wood chipper.
Back in the late 70's, O.S.Engines in Japan brought out a small 0.30cu.in. 1hp Wankel model airplane engine. Nice, they ran like sewing machines, far quieter and with more power than similar glow-fuel engines. Over 30 years later they still make them. Shame the technology didn't keep going. http://www.osengines.com/engines/osmg1401.html
Does anybody else remember back some years ago (lots of years) a report that someone had put a Wankel in a Suzuki X6 frame? Apparently the power-to-weight ration was stupendous, but the bike was too powerful for the market. Must have been fun, though! Pvt-Cdr(SS) MichigammeDave
Mercedes Benz played around with the rotary back in the 60's to 70's; the 4 rotor experimental C-111 was pretty fast, but the engine was a gas guzzler and had exhaust pollutant issues.
What about a Wombat? Oassholes picture would fit right in

ReplyDeleteBeing from Long Island, I can't even tell you how much I despise that wanker.
