This letter in the local rag tonight
Wayne A (Letters, Aug. 4) asks
"Can someone tell me why he/she would vote for Barack Obama for
president again?"
It's quite simple, really. I remember what
happened the last time the Republicans had the White House and I don't
want my country to go through that again.
ARCHIE
W
I'll bet you're like me with people like Archie. Who are
they? What do they do all day? Then there's this.
For what seems like months we've seen
daily reports of Obama's slipping approval numbers (no incumbent
has ever been reelected with approval under 50%). He's out of
money, and nobody shows up for his speeches. He's totally
out of the closet now, spouting the hard Marxist line in every
speech. Every charge his campaign have made against Romney, and
now Paul Ryan, are deemed falsehoods by even the Washington Post
and other leftist broadsheets— yet the Obamas keep airing them.
That's hard core folks. So he's
toast. Right?
But then you read, as I did:
Zogby Poll — the
first survey conducted after Romney announced Ryan as his vice
presidential choice — shows the Romney/Ryan ticket tied with Obama/Biden at 46
percent.
Tied? WTF? Tied? I cannot fathom any of
this. Makes no sense. There are millions like me who don't
get Archie; he may as well be from Mars. And, there's not a
chance in hell that the Archies will be allowed to destroy what's
left of this country. Archie probably feels the same way, so, it will
come to confrontation of some sort, especially if Obama is
reimposed. But Archie will be wearing a black leather coat and
driving a government truck when he comes for us, so we'd better have a
plan that's more substantial than saying "I've got 20 guns and 12,000
rounds of ammo." They all go into Archie's truck if you're by
yourself.

Well, there's this. Have these muvvahfuggahs ever, EVER given us straight numbers?

The only poll you should pay attention to is the Rasmussen daily presidential tracking poll.
ReplyDeleteI think that this is possibly examples of: "Lie Big, Retract Quietly", "Distraction, And The Manufacture Of Relevance", and
ReplyDelete1,8,9,11, 12.4 and 12.5
And Definitely 12.3

The partisan polls tend to give outlandish results the farther away they are from election day. Their later numbers tend towards reality because their reputations will be tarnished by the election results.
ReplyDeleteThat said, if the partisan polls say the race is tied, then Obama is in deep shit.

Steve *smacks head* of course you're right. In my advancing decrepitude I confused Zogby (who enjoyed a brief reputation for accuracy before being gotten to) with Rasmussen- the only pollster with substance. Period.
ReplyDeleteIt seems to me that there are only two reasons for the imbalance of the internals of these polls. First the 24/7 news need something to report. Second, and maybe more significant, I think the Dems. are figuring out how many votes the need to steal the election.
ReplyDeleteA majority of American citizens now believe they can vote for free money from the government. The people at this blog still think the "Obama is gonna pay for my gas and mortgage" woman is unusual.
ReplyDeleteShe's not.
We're all screwed.
No we aren't screwed.
ReplyDeleteObama is facing a Republican landslide, and he knows it.
He is pimping extreme third rails like gun control because he knows he has lost, and is positioning himself as a hireling for the various left wing nut groups after the election.
Kristopher, I hope you are right. I've bookmarked this page to my post 2012 election folder. Let's both come back the day after and see who has the last laugh. I hope you do, but I fear the worst.
ReplyDeleteLook at the Rasmussen polls.
ReplyDeleteThe other pollster's are just pollstitutes.
