EVANSVILLE, Ind. — When Mitt Romney campaigned
last
week at one stop in Colorado, a key swing state whose governor and
senators are Democrats, he sought to sell himself with a simple
message: He is a deal maker, someone who can work with Democrats and
reach across the aisle, as he did when he was the governor of
Massachusetts.
“We’ve got to have
someone
that goes to Washington that buries the hatchet and says, ‘You know
what? There are good Democrats, there are good Republicans that care
about America,’ ” Mr. Romney said at a rally in a Denver suburb. “Let’s
work together to get the American people working.”
But on Saturday, Mr. Romney flew on a Gulfstream
IV to the southwest reaches of Indiana to campaign for someone with a
distinctly different view of bipartisanship: Richard Mourdock, a Tea
Party favorite and the state’s Republican Senate nominee, who this
spring defeated the incumbent, Richard G. Lugar, one of the most
influential Republicans of the past generation. [Making
a Pitch to the Tea Party in Indiana]
This
is from the New York Times; nevertheless it's why, when I vote for
Romney, it will be as a man with terminal emphysema
using his ADVAIR
puffer to stay alive—until the lung transplant.

I'm still a huge Mitt fan, but I'm commenting since you mentioned NYT. Here's my favorite dig of the day, from Steven Hayward of Powerline, referring to Thomas Friedman of The New York Times:
ReplyDelete(Memo to Friedman: requiring subsidies means that your business isn’t “competitive.” Just check the NY Times stock price.
Of course Mitt is a moderate but why wouldn't he campaign for Richard Mourdock. After all, the only time the Democrats act bipartisan is when they are in the minority in both houses.

Damn, there are nice people who are pedophiles. I wouldn't work with them either. Fuck this work together stuff. We need the bitter medicine of solutions.
ReplyDeleteI am certain Mitt will stop the advance of Marxism in America the same way a school zone stops traffic for all time.
ReplyDeleteAfter all, heestory is just a chock full of guys from Mass. riding in on a white horse to save the cause of freedom.

Watched part of FNS tonight. Skipped Obama's comrade David Axelred (sic). No patience for more Dem lies. Watched the awe inspiring Ted Cruz for 15 minutes. Then changed the channel because the panel was moderated by Mike's boy, and composed of moderates and commies. If Pat Buchanan had been on I might have been able to stomach the smug and the stupid...
ReplyDeleteSpot on, Steve. I used to watch FOX News because I didn't spend so much time swearing at my tv, but that really isn't the case anymore. They crawl all over each other to interview DC's biggest RINOS. Like anybody gives a load of dingo's kidneys what McCain or any of his ilk has to say about anything. I'd just as well punch Mike Wallace in the face as listen to any of his dumb ass questions - might as well watch Chris Mathews.
