here from Doug Ross, who comments:
Remember:
this is the inevitable endgame for the Democrat Party's incessant,
eight-decade drive for ever more centralized, authoritarian government.
Their various mandates -- governing energy, health care, retirement,
automobile design, shower heads, you name it -- must be enforced
through compulsion. That is: they must use force over the individual to
compel adherence to their unconstitutional dictates. That is
what the Democrat Party's failed policies must inevitably devolve into:
tyranny. -

The light bulbs I am allowed to use, the amount of water in my flush toilet, the size of my soda; the democrats are already totalitarians
ReplyDeleteNotice the children in those photos are not smiling. Their eyes are so dead they might as well be on a stuffed toy.
ReplyDeleteBack in 2003, I went to a communist country (Laos) in an area that still hadn't seen a lot of tourists yet.
I ran into a lot of poor, but smiling and happy kids, curious about this balding 30 something white guy with a camera.
The difference was that the Lao commies didn't go all out to destroy the religion (Buddhist and Catholic... latter due to the French) and culture of the people. The Laos were a pretty laid back bunch*. I think it was too much effort to try a cultural holocaust perpetrated by the like of the senior Kim or Mao.
* the local joke is that Laos PDR stands for Please Don't Rush. When leaving the country, I wasn't charged the "exit fee" because the border official were on lunch. I was going to pay it with the huge pile of worthless local currency. I ended up giving it away in the USA as drink coasters.
I can see that. When you leave the country, please take a stack of worthless cash and a Mexican with you.

Steve in Tulsa: It was Nixon that signed the EPA into existence, and it was GW Bush that signed the Energy Act that rammed those CFs down our throats. Bloomberg is the one limiting soda sizes.
ReplyDeleteThe last I looked, these people were or are members of the same branch of the one party we have. That branch is the Republicans.
And no, I am not a Democrat. I simply recognize that all of them have the same goals. The Democrats keep folks distracted with cries of racism about everything, and the Republicans keep the base distracted with "look! over there! a homo!"
The real struggle is between Progressive and Conservative. Don't forget that the first Progressive President was Theodore Roosevelt, a Republican.
ReplyDeleteR or D: whatthehell's the difference once my head's blowed off?
