I smell a rat. Today’s Chicago Sun-Times story Getting
a gun in Chicago quick and easy strikes me as
confabulation. “Want to know how to get a gun? Just ask
Chris. The skinny teen attends high school in Chicago and is a
talented athlete. But he’s also a notorious gunslinger. As a
shooter in a South Side gang, he can get his hands on a gun as quick as
you can get a burger at a fast-food restaurant.” Hyperbole for sure.
But is Windy City scribe and Pulitzer Prize winner Frank
Main [above] another Stephen Glass or Janet Cooke? Here are
some of the red flags . . .
The
gun-nut left have been manufacturing self-serving "gun data," for
years, so that's the first
red flag. But, wtf? The Sun Times article doesn't have to be
BS. Of course getting a gun is easy if you're a
criminal. It's what criminals do. That's the problem in Progressive
cities like Chicago, NYC, or Baltimore. They have guns and you
don't.
Blah blah blah. They can also buy smack, meth, or any illegal substance
you want. Or steal a car to order. Or vote illegally in
any election. They're criminals. In
cities that indulge them. Sheesh.

People cause FAR more problems with sex than with guns.

I live in Canada. We've just abandoned long gun registration, but handguns are still strictly controlled. Very strictly.
ReplyDeleteI'm a middle aged, white, conservative, business owner and I guarantee you that if I wanted a handgun I'd have one in a few hours. Go to a few bars, talk to a few guys, get some money out of the bank, do the deal. Sure, I might get robbed, might talk to an undercover copper, those are risks that the criminal classes regularly take. In case nobody noticed, crooks don't do risk analysis.
Sure -- Just ask Chris, the notorious gunslinger / gang shooter.
ReplyDeleteJust ask him. See whatcha get.
Cracker.
