What’s So Bad About a Boy Who Wants to Wear a Dress?

The night before Susan and Rob allowed their son to go to preschool in a dress, they sent an e-mail to parents of his classmates. Alex, they wrote, “has been gender-fluid for as long as we can remember, and at the moment he is equally passionate about and identified with soccer players and princesses, superheroes and ballerinas (not to mention lava and unicorns, dinosaurs and glitter rainbows).” They explained that Alex had recently become inconsolable about his parents’ ban on wearing dresses beyond dress-up time. After consulting their pediatrician, a psychologist and parents of other gender- [blah blah fkng-blah]

  • What's so bad about wanting to fondle the breasts of the girl who sits next to you in Math?
  • What's so wrong about wanting to smear feces on your head to attract green flies, which shimmering  iridescence please you?
  • What's so bad about wanting to put dog turds on your peanut butter sandwich?
  • What's so bad about not wanting to say the Pledge of Allegiance?
Nothing.  Unless you talk about those desires, or act on them, and are willing to accept the ridicule.   Because, laws aside,  it's abnormal  behavior;  unacceptable by social norms. Social norms are  necessary in any society; guidelines and silent agreements which allow lots of people to live together in some  harmony.

Accommodating people like Alex, and certainly Alex's parent, means imposing on everyone a requirement to accept their behavior as being perfectly normal, or face a political punishment.  We call this political correctness, and it's a cancer.   PC makes people want to throw other people who work for the New York Times down a volcano.  Someday, given the opportunity, they probably will.

"gender fluid"???

The kid is destined to a lifetime of problems-the parents are assdouches of the first order.

wait, wait this is the same country that wants to take away obese kids from their parents?

People who insist on bending gender roles need to learn quickly that they are swimming against the tide.

I don't have a problem with a kid who wants to do that, but I do have a problem with trying to protect them from the results of their decisions.

Sooner or later, you must deal with the consequences of stepping outside of cultural norms. The sooner you learn this, the better.

They are making themselves one fine homosexual. Genetics my ass.

Homosexuality is a combination of both nature AND nurture.

The same militant homosexuals who claim it is all nature will still make fun of homophobes by calling them latent homosexuals ... all the while ignore the fact that "latent homosexual" implies that heterosexuality CAN be taught to someone, despite their genes.

Personally, it ain't my damned business, as long as you don't shove your sexuality on me, whatever the hell it is.

I'll buy that as long as "by nature" you mean a disease of the mind.

@Casca - if you can quote one of Tim Wilson's 39 things every man ought to know, you're all right by me (and we're probably related).

This is not necessarily a homosexual thing. "Tomboy" is an excellent movie about this very problem. Uncomfortable living as a girl, 10-year-old Laure decides to spend her childhood as Michael. What makes this movie special is how the mother handles it; not at all the way Alex's mom did.

Since the incidence of homosexuality concerns less than 5% of the population, I think I can confidently reply, "Bullshit."

These "parents" wish so desperately for the approval of their peers that they are willing to sacrifice the sanity of their child for the chance to appear in the NYT.

Euthanasia would be kinder.

What's the difference between a "homosexual thing" and a "transgender thing"?

A family moves into a new neighborhood, and a 10-year-old named Laure deliberately presents as a boy named Mikhael to the neighborhood children. It is heavily implied that Mikhael is a closeted transgender boy. This film follows his experiences with his newfound friends, his potential love interest, Lisa, his younger sister and his parents. It focuses in on the significance of gender identity in social interaction from an early age, the difficulties of being transgender and young, and how Mikhael navigates these in the background of childhood play and love.

You ought to see how a bitch treat the male
puppies that squat for peeing...

Then, on the other hand, our girl
Pom watch her two male companions
pee against some post...and she try
to imitate them, except she lift
the wrong leg...seeing her mistake,
she lift the other leg too...and
end up pissing up in the air
walking on her
two front legs!

We just need a volcano near the New York Times. Do you want to pay to haul all those a-holes out to Washington State?

All this notwithstanding, and I'm no Masterson and Jones, but methinks it's a long way from cross-dressing to sodomy. Still, it's not something one encourages in a child.

The original point that we are awash in the foolishness of the relativists stands.

It is NOT a long way, however, from gender-confusion to becoming a victim of sodomy. These parents are essentially pre-grooming their own son for pederasts.

Not to be too harsh; we disagree, that's all. I do appreciate the "Masterson and Jones" snark.

Perhaps the kid will grow up to make a nice living this way, perhaps even meeting Crocodile Dundee in a bar.

He's a poor kid with crappy parents now, in twenty years he'll be spewing his dysfunction all over society. Too bad his dad lacks the balls to even try to do something.

I-RIGHT-I: look up Big Horn Sheep Bachelor herd behavior some time.

These genes aren't as uncommon as you think.

If it is any consolation, humans with this genetic drift usually don't breed much.

Rob de Witt: Agreed. No one has any business forcing gender assignment on a kid. They will assign themselves soon enough. The vast majority are heterosexual, and parents are doing them no favor by trying to force some politically correct choice on something as important as this.
