This headline in The Reno Gazette-Journal caught
my eye:
Fluke Takes Center Stage In Reno
Which sounds kind of a big deal: I mean, the cliché
“center stage” implies you’re the star, the center of attention, the
one everyone’s there to see. And sure enough, in the picture
underneath, standing in front of an Obama-Biden banner, there she was:
Sandra Fluke, a social justice advocate and campaign
surrogate for
Democratic President Barack Obama, speaks in Reno on Saturday.
And then I read the first sentence:
"Sandra
Fluke, the woman at the center of a media firestorm earlier this year
after Rush Limbaugh called her a 'slut,' spoke Saturday in front of
about 10 people at the Sak ‘N Save in north Reno."
Ten people? Does that include the reporter? How small a crowd do you
have to draw not to get covered by The Reno Gazette-Journal?
Here’s
the second sentence:
It's
no fluke that Democrats have so badly miscalculated with bimbo Fluke
(see the ridiculous "binder" thing). Dems are the children of
protective parents who do their homework, and fight battles for them
When faced with a monitored
test, they can often scarcely spell their names.

I could assemble ten people in a Walmart parking lot for the price of a pound of cooked smoked sausage and a box of toothpicks.
ReplyDeleteI think it would take about ten minutes.
Jess, you would pull about 200 at my Walmart.

ReplyDelete"Sak 'N Save"
How appropriate is that?
Geo
Boss,
ReplyDeleteSTG I though this was a joke, until I saw an article elsewhere.
OMFG.
Were the ten people family? Or ten guys w/ condoms??
WAZZAMATTA? Slave-way having their parking lot striped? She had to do a personal appearance at the Sak n' Save?
ReplyDeleteSandra, does Barry know you're "helping" him like this? Why don't you just get yourself some pills or condoms or whatever, and do what you apparently do best, on your back?
Her whole crowd filled 1 (one) parking space.
ReplyDeleteAnd Stephanie Cutter says Binders and Big Bird are important.

I agree Geo.
I think of her more as the "sack & stave" type of girl.
I believe "Sack-n-save" is a euphemism for girls who keep the spend condoms.
ReplyDelete"Sack-n-save" NEW ONE!
ReplyDeleteThe inimitable Doug Ross is calling Ohio for the good guy. Too bad he's focused on Hamilton County (Cincinnati). Cuyahoga County (Cleveland) will go easy 60% Dem, but if it slips much under, watch out. My county is Franklin (Columbus).
ReplyDeleteHere's an anecdote: In my large corporation in 2008, it was just about me and my direct boss who would advertise that we were voting for McCain. Women and blacks were quite vocal about Teh Won. Last week, not so much: I was making my landslide bet loud and clear, and there were half a dozen geeks throwing around phrases like "yeah, we got a chance in Wisconsin, but Minnesota, hrmm". I heard not a peep from the opposition.
I'm gonna take election day off to do what I can. Gonna take off the next day also, coz I know I'll be up all night. I love this stuff.
USA!!! UAS!!! USA!!!
I was surprized to see what a dinky place Reno is. It may be the biggest small town in the nation, but it's still pretty damn small.
ReplyDeleteShe could have maybe gotten more folks in one of the casinos, but they would not have been listening.

Oh Alear, I'm so sorry. Mike Coleman is turning your beautiful city into Shitholistan.
ReplyDelete""Sak 'N Save""
ReplyDeleteDon't they have 'Kum and Go' there?
