“We
are disinclined to engage in another round of historical analysis to
determine whether eighteenth-century America understood the Second
Amendment to include a right to bear guns outside the home,” Judge
Richard Posner wrote in the court’s majority opinion.
“The Supreme Court has decided that the amendment
confers
a right to bear arms for self-defense, which is as important outside
the home as inside. The theoretical and empirical evidence (which
overall is inconclusive) is consistent with concluding that a right to
carry firearms in public may promote self-defense,” he continued.
“Illinois had to provide us with more than merely a rational basis for
believing that its uniquely sweeping ban is justified by an increase in
public safety. It has failed to meet this burden,” Posner
wrote.
Enter Lib-Think:
The Illinois legislature reasonably
concluded that if people are allowed to carry guns in public, the
number of guns carried in public will increase, and the risk of
firearms-related injury or death in public will increase as well
Gun homicides in Chicago(2001-2111) totaled 5588, or an average 508
per year. Recent Drudge headlines scream "Chicago 2012 Homicide Total
Reaches 500." I'm just saying.
Using common sense and leisurely collected anecdotal evidence, one
might conclude that the overwhelming majority of these killings were
perped by the city's lawless street thugs. So then, it is true
that—in
the short term— "the number of guns carried in public will
increase, and the risk of firearms-related injury or death (by
a public
defending themselves and shooting MFCS) will increase as
well."
Boo-Hoo, and Pass the Ammunition.
And,
as an aside—stop me if I've said this before—our prisons are choked
with gang members sporting tattood gang membership badges. A
condition
of membership. in many of these gangs is killing somebody. So, my
first act as Dear Leaser will be to cull through our prison population
and dispatch them all, willy nilly.. In California alone the roll
of illegals would
be sliced in half. I'm just saying. |

Daley's probably peeing his panties right now. I think his irrational fear of guns is born in the belief that most people are out to get him. Actually, the opposite is probably true--the vast majority of Chicago sheeple love him.
ReplyDeleteBut Daley doesn't believe that because only he knows what a scumbag he really was, and he projects that onto his former subjects.
...the number of guns carried in public will increase, and the risk of firearms-related injury or death in public will increase as well.
ReplyDeleteSounds good to me - thin out the shooter/looter population quicker.

Chicago was the fist place where I lived that I kept all of my guns loaded all of the time. I also expended copious amounts of 7.62 into my front lawn... just to let the locals know I was there.
