I wonder if this is an operation to flush out all the gun nuts. They'll back off their initial claims and only go with a few, "reasonable" restrictions which people will happily accept (especially given the alternatives)
ReplyDeleteThen, next year, repeat.
What are you complaining about? You can still smoke in the other half of the restaurant.

Eric Holder: Gun Owners Should 'Cower' in Shame Like Smokers
Freddie Sykes
Drudge links to a story about Wyoming's state legislature being proactive and proposing state laws to thwart Biden and the confiscators. I pray other gun friendly states follow suit. In the meantime I am searching diligently for parts (It's tough when BCG's are going for $400 on ebay) to turn my stripped lowers into evil black guns and reloading all my saved brass.
ReplyDeleteI don't get it. Don't we already have universal background checks? Isn't that what the NICS thing does? Wait, maybe this is lefty code for "eliminating the 'gun show loophole'" by making private sales of firearms illegal by federal law? In which case, to comply, prospective sellers would have to visit a gun store with their buyers and pay to run a NICS, then make the sale elsewhere? That idea has more holes in it than a wheel of Swiss cheese.
ReplyDeleteAnd doesn't the FBI already compile piles of statistics about gun-related deaths? Yes! We've all read the posts this past week about hammers being more common than rifles when it comes to murder weapons. So just WTF is Plugs Biden proposing, other than yet another redundant government program?
The "high capacity" magazine thing is crap, although it might pass. Even if some federal law is passed that limits them to 10 rounds, we'll all quickly become speedy mag swapping experts.
Smoke and mirrors. Which is what we expected when Mr. Brainwave got put in charge of this loser project.
ReplyDeleteNow with the World's greatest and universally beloved President back in the saddle they will pass laws.
What happens after that is up to all the reluctant killers out there who know the difference between right and wrong.
The report was written years ago, if not decades. They know it, we know it, and they don't care if we know it.
ReplyDeleteOnly a very ignorant person, or a caring Democrat, woule believe otherwise.
Sir H the (what did I do with my shovel?) Comet
All this talk about "Assault Weapons Ban" and "High Capacity Magazine Ban", while serious and desired by the left, is just a smoke screen to obscure other plans the left has cooking. Maybe it is the UN Gun convention they are coverine for, or maybe it is to distract from the Debt Ceiling debate.
ReplyDeleteWhile we are discussing the gun thing, we are not publicly discussing the spending cuts and the Debt Ceiling debate that is coming.
If we give ground on the debt ceiling, we must have real spending cuts, not reductions in the rate of increase, or spending reductions in the "out years". Call your Senators and Congresscritter and let them know we are serious about these issues!!!
