The NY Times and Debkafile both report Israel destroyed a warehouse at
Damascus International Airport. Both report that the warehouse
contained either SCUD or much more modern surface to surface missiles,
destined for Hizbollah. They had just been sent to Syria by
Iran.
According to both reports, the Israeli missiles were fired by Israeli
aircraft over Lebanon, so they are long range missiles the Israelis
fired. The Israeli jets later continued to fly over other parts
of
Lebanon, including the capitol.

thousands of Basij militiamen had just been airlifted from Iran to
Syria, establishing an Iranian military presence opposite Israel from
Syria as well as Lebanon. They joined a comparable number of Hizballah
militiamen fighting for the Bashar regime.
Debkafile adds that Israeli ground forces
have
entered Lebanon, and entered the Shebaa Farms area. Recently,
Iran
flew thousands of Iranian Basij militia troops, which are guarding
about 30 Syrian Shiite villages.
The Israelis announced there will be an “exercise”, starting
tomorrow.
Debkafile believes that is cover for a major Israeli operation.
Apparently, the shit has just hit the fan.

FOX News and AP report that Israel launched another attack on advanced anti-aircraft weapons and other targets Sunday, the second attack in three days. Israel has also deployed the Iron Dome anti-rocket and missile system to the north, in expectation of attack.

ReplyDeleteInteresting that the Israeli's can hit targets in Damascus and Syria can't stop their planes. And they fire missiles from Lebanese airspace, and Hezbollah doesn't seem to have any of those advanced SAMs they were trying to get from Iran.
