Lois Lerner Crime Story
TRUE CRIME
“
Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) was applauded at a
congressional hearing Wednesday, after he objected to Internal Revenue
Service official Lois Lerner pleading the Fifth Amendment and refusing
to testify before the House Committee on Oversight and Government
Reform.
“Mr. [Elijah]
Cummings [D-Md.] (alas) said we should run this like a courtroom, and I
agree with him. She just testified,” Gowdy said. “She just waived
her Fifth Amendment right to privilege, you don’t get to tell your side
of the story then not be subjected to cross examination.
“That’s not the way
it works.
“She waived her
right to Fifth Amendment privilege by issuing an opening statement,” he
said. “She ought to stand here and answer our questions.”
In her opening statement, Lerner said she is “very
proud of the work I have done in government.”

She should have been questioned all day and forced to take the 5th for every instance of IRS abuse, putting the whole thing before the cameras for all to see. The 5th only protects her from incriminating herself, not from testifying. After sweating her all day, Issa should give her immunity and then compel her testimony under threat of perjury/contempt of Congress, either of which could put her in prison. That will also shine light on the cockroaches and maybe net some bigger fish. Lt. Col. Gen. Tailgunner dick
They could tell she was going to crumple and never STOP talking. This is the sort of stuff that not only brings down governments but brings out the tar and feathers (if they're lucky)...
In a more perfect world, they'd drag her screaming, out on the front steps, cover her with roofing patch and empty a large feather pillow on the entire mess.
Then, they'd tie her to a long post, like a pig, and parade her along the streets to the edge of town.
There, they'd put her in a ditch and tell her to never return.

ReplyDeleteIssa probably erred in letting her go. After checking Trey Gowdy's interpretation, he has had a change of mind. She has been recalled to testify.
ReplyDeleteJust sittin' here waitin' for someone to come forward with the blue dress boss.

I'd watch that video. I might even pay to see it.
