Our daughter talks to her
daughter (4) after she disobeyed:
"Aren't you tired of me taking your toys away? I don't want to take them away. I don't like having to punish you at all.
"What's 'punish'?"
"Punish is when I take something of yours away because you don't behave. Pretty soon I'll have taken away everything you like."
Without a second of pause - "Well, you can't take my favorite color away."

I'm thinking some tough times are ahead. A mind that sharp can slice to the bone.

ReplyDeleteWe have three other grandkiddies just as awesome.
ReplyDeleteThe best part of being a grandparent is watching your kids suffer from all the same shit they put you through.
ReplyDeleteIt's sweet, sweet justice.
We only put them through Joy!
ReplyDeleteQ: Why do grandkids and grandparents get along so well??
ReplyDeleteA: Common enemy.
Watching that wildcat when she starts dating would be fun.

ReplyDeleteYeah, right. Good luck with that.
When a 4 year old comes up with a rejoinder like that all you can do is hold your peace and thank God.
