Wow. That might have been really nasty had the dirt bag taken one step back and fired when that hand went up after the gun. What I saw was two guys who really didn't want to shoot.
I thought it was a shame the clerk didn't pull the trigger and improve the world. Then I realized that the poor clerk would have had to clean up the mess. He made a good call.
