Sterling

It's really simple. Private conversations between Sterling and his mistress, in which she lead him into areas she knew his views would bring outrage were surreptitiously taped. The tape was released. One of the mistress's other boyfriends is Magic Johnson, a part owner of the LA Dodgers. Now we hear that all this can be made right if the Clippers are sold to a group fronted by Magic Johnson. What are the odds that Johnson and his group conspired to get the team by staging this outrage. It's not like this was a big secret. Everyone has known for years Sterling was like that. He's been sued and fined for his slumlord activities. It was just a case of working through his mistress to stage a coup, on behalf of Magic Johnson. Just look at who benefits.

Well, "color" me unsurprised. How much is Al Sharpton's cut?
ReplyDeleteI assume we're referring to (former) NAACP Lifetime Achievement Award nominee Donald Sterling.
ReplyDeleteYes, Doug, that's who it is. But by going through this act, Magic Johnson and his partners may have been too clever by half. Sterling may well have a case against them, and can tie them, and his estranged wife, and his mistress up in litigation for more years than he will have to worry about.
ReplyDeleteshades of Marge Schott.
ReplyDeleteIf this happened in MD and Sterling claimed he didn't know he was being recorded, his mistress would be prosecuted by the local authorities. Just ask Monica's former friend, Linda Tripp.
