scream-of-consciousness;
"If you're trying to change minds and influence people it's probably not a good idea to say that virtually all elected Democrats are liars, but what the hell."
Impeachment was really never the "problem," per se.
REMOVAL FROM OFFICE - which is done by the Senate - was always the lynchpin. Moreso than Hairy Reed and his Dems...TIMING, especially vis a vis the 2014 election cycle, is important to avoid the "aww, pity the poor victim" sympathy vote syndrome.
Used to use the Z80 for embedded systems. Loved the back-to-back processors with common registers, ticking over on alternate clock phases. 512 bytes of RAM and 2K of EEPROM was potent enough for instrumentation and process control, written in assembler.
Wretchard over at the Belmont Club had an interesting thought. He was saying the "common knowledge" was that impeachment was unlikely because it would be counter productive in that it would energize his base and get the racism card played big time. However the common knowledge has been wrong before. Obomba could get removed if a big enough disaster hit and right now things are looking pretty shaky on all fronts.
I'm not sure about this impeachment thing. Sure, it sounds like fun, and as a political statement probably worthwhile, but think it through. At the end of it all we have... President Joe Biden, and... Vice President Hillary Clinton? Do we want that, even for two years? PvtCdr(SS) MichigammeDave
That Z80 beats the pants off the 8080. As Zilog used to say, gentlemen, the choice of weapons is yours.

But, AFTERWARDS?!?
(Figuratively) HANG 'EM HIGH.
Z80? Nice. Wish I still had my Eagle II, a great CPM machine.

ReplyDeleteCan't the Barn Army B-52 just drop a nuke on DC so we can start over?
ReplyDeleteWhere's that RESET button?
