Westboro Baptist Mania?

Sen. Ted Cruz "booed off the stage" WTF

Reports surfaced Wednesday night that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) was "booed off the stage" at an event hosted by a purportedly Christian organization.

"I told the attendees that those who hate Israel also hate America," Cruz said. "That those who hate Jews also hate Christians. And that anyone who hates Israel and the Jewish people is not following the teachings of Christ. These statements were met with angry boos.

Brietbart
What the Flock?  Was this a meeting of the  Westboro Baptist Church?  They are most certainly not Christians, but wtf?  I am truly shocked by this.

The Washington Free Beacon reported, “the roster of speakers includes some of the Assad regime’s most vocal Christian supporters, as well as religious leaders allied with the Iranian-backed terrorist group Hezbollah.”

That's an odd mixture that allows me to think the group was filled with pro Palestinian and SEIU Mofos  than Christians (as opposed to christians).
There has to be a backstory here. Anyone?

MISLEADING to say he was "booed off the stage".
HE WAS BOOED,
HE TOLD THEM OFF
("If you will not stand with Israel and the Jews, then I will not stand with you. Thank you and God bless.")
AND HE CHOSE TO WALK OFF THE STAGE.

The Presbyterians have been in an anti-Israeli snit the past few years. I think their latest move was divestiture. I don't know much else about it, but I'm sure Google does.

That's surprising since Presbyterians are among the most avid Biblical scholars focusing on the the ties between Judaism and it's Christian sect. So to speak. Wait, I did say scholars.

Breitbart calls the group a "purportedly Christian organization" calling themselves "In Defense of Christians." Sounds like just another liberal fund raising scam outfit from their reaction to Cruz.

Hey Rodger, Our Pretender in Chief is allegedly a Constitutional Scholar too. You know that scrap of paper that he despises and circumvents at every opportunity?

Yes, Drew, that's true. Although the PC (USA) is united, there remain deep divisions between the old Northern and Southern Presbyterian Churches. Unfortunately the Lefty Northerners control the General Assembly. This is a noise machine, not a representative body.

Our minister wrote a letter to the local Jews apologizing on our behalf for the divestiture shenanigans of the GA. It was warmly received.

He told us about coming to Atlanta to preach years ago, and first noticing a pair of commemorative urns displayed prominently in his church. They were gifts from the synagogue up the street. After it had been bombed, in the story told by Driving Miss Daisy, that Presbyterian church hosted the Jews for 2 years while a new synagogue was built. That's how real Presbyterians feel about Jews.

Yes, Rodge. Though our missionary work, dinner socials, and ability to sit politely through the longest sermons ranks with any denomination, the Bible comes first with Presbyterians.
