As
I've said before, much of the problem with our immigration "policy" is
that we don't enforce the laws we already have concerning entry and
residence in the country.
However, since "everyone agrees" that our immigration system needs
"fixing," I offer two simple solutions to the problem:
Suggestion # 1.
Standard form – 10 questions:
- Do you have any
communicable diseases?
- Do you owe more than
$1000 USD to any legitimate business or organization?
- Have you ever been
convicted of a crime?
- Are you a member of
a gang or communist organization?
- Are you a
Muslim?
If the answer to any of the five questions above is “yes,” then you are
ineligible for entry into the United States. Go away.
- Do you have any special and legitimate skills
to provide you with income?
- Do you understand the principles of the
government of the United States?
- Can you speak and read conversational English?
- Are your immediate family completely free of
mental disease or disorder?
- Is the state of your health good enough for
steady employment?
If the answer to any of questions 6 through 10 is “no,” then you are
ineligible for entry into the United States. Go back where you
came
from and don’t come back.

The United States of America is
closed. We don't need any more people. Go away.

ReplyDeleteGeez, I'd love to agree with you on this one Helly, but I can't. Boner hasn't shown the intellectual heft or the necessary testosterone levels like that in years.
What we just witnessed is only phase 1 of a multi stage plan. Further, I don't see anyone unringing this bell. Least of all the republicans.
Nobody is going to tell these people. . . .oh, BTW our bad, you don't have the status your thought you had, but we are going to fix it for ya!
Which will immediately prompt the repubics to pass a Bill that is very similar.
If that is what you are referring too, it had to be a plan hatched in a Tanning Bed somewhere.

ReplyDelete2. Do you owe more than $1000 USD to any legitimate business or organization? More bad wording. Many desirable wealthy immigrants have big debts and big assets. How about: Does your net worth exceed 50,000.00? Or whatever amount makes sense.
3. Have you ever been convicted of a crime? How about felony within the last 5 years - some do rehabilitate themselves ya know. How about folks convicted of felonious anti-social behaviour in the old east bloc countries, or similar non-crimes?
4. Are you a member of a gang or communist organization? Bingo. Good one.
5. Are you a Muslim? Until so called 'reasonable' Muslims are prepared to act against their co-religionists and put citizenship first, take none. Good one.
6. Do you have any special and legitimate skills to provide you with income? Tough one. Lot's of very successful entrepreneurs would fail this one. I once asked a very successful real estate investor how he made so much money. Answer: I buy and sell. How do you know when land is a good deal? Answer: I don't know how, I just know.
7. Do you understand the principles of the government of the United States? This would force you to deport about 70% of native born Americans, starting with all Democrats. So yeah, a good idea.
8. Can you speak and read conversational English? Not buying this one at all. My mother came over from Germany after WW2 with no English at all. All she could do was work 24 hours a day, save money and invest. Took her a year to learn English and speak it more grammatically than most locals.
9. Are your immediate family completely free of mental disease or disorder? very funny. Nobody honest can answer this one 'No'. My two brothers, for example, ...
10. Is the state of your health good enough for steady employment? Bad, subjective question. How about: "Do you agree that if you do not file annual tax returns showing at least $30K income net of expenses for the next 5 years, or if you ever accept any welfare or public assistance, we will deport you."
Sorry for long-winded comment.
Long winded rants are a cathartic endeavor that save one from heart attack and strokes. So have at it; I do every day.
