scream-of-consciousness;
"If you're trying to change minds and influence people it's probably not a good idea to say that virtually all elected Democrats are liars, but what the hell."
None. I was exhausted from drywalling a mission rehab project. Slept til noon yesterday and let the Church Ladies prepare a bounteous feast. After stuffing myself with 6 or 8 varieties of pie (who's counting?), I went back to sleep. Best TG ever.
But we do have a tradition of abusing the Publix loss-leaders. So I get enough turkey to last until they are willing to sell it again for 59¢. At least 40 pounds. I butcher it into lovely boneless breast roasts, throw all the bagged parts into a 165º kettle, and simmer the bones into gallons of high test broth. This is where unattended sous vide cooking really shines. The frozen cooking juices are like amber — bagged turkey parts keep perfectly in the freezer forever.
It might be crappy, but I can't figure it out.
ReplyDeleteHappy TG. Been busy sleeping and eating.
Bad news: the turkey didn't thaw out in time. Not even close. Good news: the fridge hasn't used any electricity in 3 days.
Good lord Helly, how many turkeys did you have murdered for dinner? And, what did you finally settle on?

Damn, great idea. I can't believe how much turkey breast cost.
ReplyDeleteMost women say they are more impressed with accuracy, than size. At least that's what I tell them. -Anymouse
