scream-of-consciousness;
"If you're trying to change minds and influence people it's probably not a good idea to say that virtually all elected Democrats are liars, but what the hell."

I had a dream ...? A bad one, it seems.
#####
I
just read this post this morning - Sunday, Feb. 13. I hope it was not
the cause of Scalia's death.
When I saw that he had died, my first response was "Oh SH#t!! because for sure that leaves the door open for the bamster to swing the court the other way. This morning it seems McCon and friends are saying "Nope, no way we will let Obama appoint his replacement". Frankly I just don't believe them.
There are two ways this can go. One is they use Creative Math to let the appointment through. That worked really well with the Iran deal thing that they also said that they wouldn't let stand. The other way is they push it through sometime between the end of the election and the swearing in of President Cruz/Trump/Rubio/Carson. I really don't have much faith on any of them any more.
Look for Mullah Obama to nominate someone who will bow down and submit to whatever he (Obama) and George Soros demand. Someone like Eric the Contemptible Holder. Or worse, if that is even possible, Hillary. Or BJ Bill.
And know this: Whom ever Mullah Obama nominated, the RINOs in the Senate, led by McConnell, will give in and give him what he wants. Again!
I think Obamas game plan will be to AVOID a strong leftist nomination to the court, which would galvanize the Republicans and force a delay until the next President is seated.
No, the really crafty move on his behalf is to select someone maybe aligned with or just to the left of Kennedy. This would bring pressure on the mushy side of the Republican party to 'go along to get along', because 'it's his right as President to nominate who he wants'. The resulting fight in congress would be portrayed in the press as the extreme right of the party standing against moderates on both sides of the aisle. Once again, it will be said, the angry white men will want to deny our first black President his constitutionally guaranteed role of appointing judges to the court.
Obama would get his third appointment to the court AND further inflame the devisions that are his hallmark.
Sonoboy, your idea is plausible, left is left. If Obama holds to his pattern, if his first nominee is rejected, he will nominate even less acceptable candidates while turning up the "Republicans are nasty" rhetoric.
Worst of all, there will be no autopsy on Justice Scalia. How stupid are these people. Conspiracy theories for years to come. Hell, I already believe he was murdered by some lone wolf proglibtard.
jim, ditto ditto. It's not so much that I suspect some Obama loon "rid him of this troublesome priest," as my certainty that Obama would certainly have wished it so.
"Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton has said it would be “a great idea” to nominate President Barack Obama to the Supreme Court after he leaves office. With the death Saturday of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, will that support turn into a possibility?"
Under NO circumstances must Shrillary become POTUS.
Well, it seems Rush and I disagree on Obama's plan for the Supreme Court nomination. Rush thinks he will go full bore leftist in his choice; I am thinking a Kennedy-esque swing-voter is the plan. Either way, we need to redouble our efforts to capture the WH in the fall.

And, with at least two more Justices each having one foot in the grave, I expect at least two retirements before the end of summer. Just a feeling.

ReplyDeleteSo, then....we should expect both a pardon and a recess appointment SCOTUS seat for Hillary, right?
ReplyDeleteThe presidential election outcome is 2nd in importance to getting an honest broker on the Court; Democrats need not apply.

ReplyDeleteC'mon, we all know that Obama & Co. are scrambling to find a transgendered Muslim to be their nominee.
ReplyDeleteI mean, for a moment they considered Caitlyn Jenner, but he's WHITE!
Stu-
ReplyDeleteIf there are any trans-Muslims in this world, they are immediately shown the roof of the nearest multi-story building and given flying lessons.
