Wonderful, I love the fine chisel work on the tenons and grooves. But I'm thinking that if they were in America the government would have stopped the project at the first tree drop. Surely by the time the brush pile was burning.
Beautiful log house...but it's a three months job by professionals...the lumber need to be matured for three years...I got a catalogue for these sveedish broad axes and adzes...$500 each...

ReplyDeleteFriend of mine has done it twice. Has a portable sawmill and mills his own lumber from trees on his own property.

Insulation is such that one log of birch will heat it all night in minus forty...
ReplyDeleteI would love to be able to do that type of woodworking, but I know I would get about five minutes into the ax work and be looking for a chainsaw.
ReplyDeleteWhere is it? Aside from the other clues, the spacing of the rafters would indicate it's someplace that gets a good bit of snow.
