Fight evil; Your conscience can be clear

Thou shalt not kill was a historical mistranslation of Do not murder(Hebrewלֹא תִּרְצָח ‎ lo tirṣaḥ) one of the Ten CommandmentsExodus 20:13 and Deuteronomy 5:17.

  1. The intent of the commandment is clear in biblical context. God sanctioned a lot of combat in the old testament. David was a "bloody man" yet he was a "man after God's own heart."

  2. I kind of figured that one out when I was a kid. I mean, come on. It seems half the Old Testament is battles.

  3. I have a little list- that's small, but growing- of people that I don't much care whether they're murdered or just killed, so long as they're no longer around.

Someday maybe God will see Washington D.C. as the modern Sodom that it is, and take care of business for us; there's always hope!
