    Double hung sashes in aircraft went out years ago.

    Did they do that as a weight saving measure, removing the window ballasts that allowed easy opening of the window?

  3. ^ yeah, that and changing sash weight cords on ~50 windows is a bear of a job.
    Casements seal in the cabin pressure better too.

    I mean..it's not like they're using duct tape to hold the window in or anything!
