California; America's Sodom
This showdown had to happen if we are to survive as a great nation. Can it be done bloodlessly?
I am ok either way........but the normalization of weirdness has to stop. 8 out of 10 people can tell you that certain behavior is wrong. If it wasnt for California, Chicago, and NY it would be 10 out of 10.
Which is an entirely different conversation from the one we SHOULD be having. What is the difference between enforcing immigration laws and enforcing dope laws? If you don't like the law, change it. Ignoring it makes you no better than, oh, say, Bill and Hill for example...
Personally I don't drink or smoke; but I have no problem with those that do. It's seemed to me for a long time that if it took a Constitutional amendment to make buying booze illegal, then it should also require an amendment to make pot illegal. There isn't one.
So the Fed pot ban is, by my lights, not lawful. (Neither are the 33,000+ laws infringing on our 2nd Amendment rights, but that's another argument for another day.)
Then there's the fact that I live in California, where I was born many moons ago. My State was once golden, but now it's literally Brown. Sometimes I think I should start smoking pot, or dropping acid, or shooting up, just so that I don't notice how quickly my state is going downhill, and becoming Northern Mexico.
The pot doesn't bother me. What bothers me is the sea of brown people that don't belong here but who are now everywhere! Just enforce the laws against illegal immigration, and stop the flood of illegal aliens!
Eskyman, we sincerely hope that the issue for you is not what color illegal immigrants are, but that they are illegal immigrants (be they brown or otherwise).
As to pot, it destroys ambition and makes people complacent. Potheads tend to care little about anything but pot, making them a malleable and ultimately dependable constituency for the Democrats. To paraphrase LBJ, "We'll have those stoners voting Democrat for 200 years!"
