DUCK AND COVER

We’re way beyond media bias. They are all-in. The media is the Hillary Clinton campaign staff. There’s not even a pretense of objectivity. It’s so bad, the New York Times had to write a front-page story last weekend talking about how painful it is for real journalists for the first time in their careers out of a sense of duty to adopt an oppositional stance to a candidate. They’ve never done that before, and since they’ve had to do it with Trump, it also looks like they’re pro-Hillary, and they’re so uncomfortable with this!  (Rush Limbaugh 8/1/2016) Remember WHEN In 1956 when nuclear war between US and USSR was a constant concern, Americans didn’t see it as funny. Been thinking about this for a while.  Khrushchev's threat was pretty much treated like comic opera.  However, we school kids were undergoing "duck and cover" drills, and were not so sure.  But, what if we knew that Khrushchev's CPUSA had infiltrated Hollywood, labor unions (especially West coast longshoreman,) and had heavily infiltrated Roosevelt's government, in no small degree, and dominated  State Department's upper echelon?  And, along with Hollywood, the  CPUSA was heavily represented in the New York Times, and thus American literary culture.  What if we had known then that Richard Nixon was marked as  the left's public enemy number one after defeating communist Rep. Jerry Voohis in 1946? Well, to a high degree we did, or should have known.   Fellow Representative John F. Kennedy quietly donated money to Nixon's campaign against Gahagan Douglas, the two sharing similar views on the threat of communism. Sen Joe McCarthy, for instance, was spot-on when he revealed (and even then) severely underestimated  communist party influence in  our state department.  And then Nixon defeated Red Helen  Gahagan Douglas for the United States Senate ... and then, OMG, there was Alger Hiss. I've long suspected, but can't prove, that Edward R Murrow was the catalyst behind  making CBS News a highly efficient leftist agitprop machine that attacked and ridiculed the likes of Joe McCarthy. His recruits;  Walter Cronkite, Dan Rather, et al; still take a lead in producing a false narrative against any who posed a threat to the "Progressive" agenda. What if we knew all that then? Hell, do we even know it now?
